no man you need to put the covers on asap!!

you are going to have a bathtub for a headlamp otherwise - talk about foging up, youll be able to collect drinking water in there...

furthermore you dont want greasy dust settling on the bulb, lense/overall headlight housing.

go to your hardware store and buy a round file that is long and as thin as the wires...take the covers and start going through them (make sure you start your cut far enough away from the 3 clasps which lock the cover in place...i made sure to mark where it comes off the housing and do the cut on the bottom of the cover)

you will also notice that there is a rubber seal/gasket on the inside of the cover, just cut through this when you get to it so that you can continue cutting the plastic - keep the seal in, will help keep moisture out.

i made about a 1-1.25 inch (3.5cm) cut, placed the wires in one after the other, carefully placed the cap near the housing, pulled any excess wire out of the housing through the cap, and locked her in place!

make sure to push the cover on nice and tight as you may get some resistance from the wires in there, but a snug fit is a good fit.

i have driven my car at almost max speed on the highway through down-pouring rain just to put the lights through the worst possible conditions and no flickering, condensation etc to date!

hope this helps

i agree completely. you can't just put hid's into halogen housings... besides looking a little tacky, the cutoff in those vids is atrocious, and i would be severely pi$$ed if a car like that was driving behind me or towards me.

Please excuse the harshness if it comes across rude or a little blunt, but this just looks like a$$! it really cheapens the car by putting in garbage H7 hid kits without replacing the stock halogen projectors. Not to mention, it is unsafe since you are blinding people!

As you can see by the results...

My car didn't come with xenons, since I didn't feel like waiting around for one- IMHO, the only way to upgrade halogen headlamps is for a full D2S bulb projector retrofit...

Right way of doing it... (work done by Lightwerkz.net - look for Caesar)

Eyelids have 2 smaller covers for each headlamp- It's a tight fight... try using a long-nose pliers to get them out. It should slide right out.

i'm really surprised how many people are doing this on here. it really does look quite bad, and is most definitely unsafe and highly annoying. you have to pay to play, and if you couldn't afford HID's on the car when you bought it, the least you can do is a decent projector retrofit. i did it on my car and it was a pain in the sack, but at least my car doesn't look like a '93 ricer civic at night...

+1 on the ricer civic comment... just because you put HID in your car, it doesn't mean you will get better light output (since the halogen projectors is pretty much garbage)

nice work on the retrofit thought about doing it myself, but decided to have lightwerkz work on mine and leave it to the experts...

Why does the light output look a greenish color? Too much glare to even get a decent look as to how it looks.
