It does not come standard on all markets. This is why it would be useful to state the region in the profile (although it should not be the US in any case if it is a 204.089 car).
Looks like the windshield is the same independently if the car had the rain sensor or not. This should make retrofitting reasonable. The question would be more about version coding if this too is controlled by SCN codes but a good workshop should be able to do it.

Off topic but combining your screen name and the profile I would conclude that you have the 4-Matic 204, is that right? I'd be interested about your experience on fuel consumption figures. I'm getting almost the same with the 221 as our 204, is the 4Matic causing that much additional fuel consumption?

C 320 CDI S204
Hi sorry guys, I'm in Spain and I've just bought a C 320 CDI State 7G (not 4MATIC) and it does not have the rain sensor. It is an option that costs arround 120 EUR overhere, but as the car was from stock I had no option...
Tks!

I'm getting 34 mpg quite easily but that is too much fuel in my opinion. Note that the car I was referring to was a 204.089, a diesel, like our 204.
My 221 has done 39 mpg at its best. That is reasonably slow but constant speed at a highway. The average is better with the 204 but I'd expect much better than that from a 221. The 212 beats the 204 easily but it isn't a 4Matic.

You can retrofit the rain sensor if you have the correct harness - you will need to check. Almost anything is possible - it all comes down to cost.

Changing the light sensor to a combined light/rain sensor should not be that bad as such. I did not check the plug you mentioned, the problem with missing wires is usually that one may need to dismantle a lot of panels to get missing wires in place.

I'm actually not a fan of my rain sensors. They just don't work. They wipe at odd times and don't wipe when you need it to wipe, etc. I actually wish my car didn't have it and just had regular wipers cause I honestly find them more useful. If I were you, I would just stick to the regular wipers.
