TPMS on new wheels

The Siemens system actually even detects if tyres are inflated and sets a new reference pressure value automatically. Initialising the system from the cluster does not harm in any case but is actually essential only if tyre pressures are reduced (intentionally).
Some sensors were put on stock in a mode that needs specific driving to get the sensors wake up for normal operation. I don't even remember what the case exactly was and what was the exact wake-up procedure.
If the system does not start working after some good driving, it sounds like the sensors are not correct.
One of mine was replaced after the dealer's tire mounter snapped it off and a simple dash menu reset was all it took.
Plus I bought a complete set for my winter wheels and a reset took care of it.
I would suggest calling TireRack and see what they have to say. I believe our sensors were from Schrader, but I wouldn't swear by that, and the invoice is in the car, three floors below me in the condo garage.
I expected to have to, at a minimum, reset the system, but in my case I needed to do nothing at all to have them recognized.
Your anger may defeat you more than anything else. If they have one of their authorized installers in your area, ask if you can take the car there for the fix at no cost, IF THE PROBLEM IS THEIR SENSORS.
I was actually surprised considering I have a Canadian model C350 and we don't have TPMS sensors, but the manual tells me exactly how to set it up
if you cannot find it, I will type it up for you as I see it in the manual
