Wonderfull instalation, I really dream about Command with all options from the very beginning, when asked dealer in Moscow, the price was enormous.
Now I am able to get it (screen and module) 999 euros.
But still, too many questions are open. What list of parts are exactly needed? Will I be able to fix everything working without dealer? As in Moscow they are crazy
Hope if I will go for this, you will be able to help Vic.

What was not clear on the parts list that was posted previously? Homework is the most important step before attempting retrofit tasks, looks like you still needs some before you are ready for the task (I'm sure you will be able to figure out everything).

The only thing is - only dealer will be able to fix everything with their computer? Or just any MB computer?

I do have friendly service with MB computer, will they be able to do this?
Other way is my guarantee will expire that moment anyway, so maybe dealers' price will be acceptable for this "unlock".

No, you´ll need an autorized dealer to perform the coding, they are the only ones with access to the vedok system wich is needed to add or remove special equipment coding.

PS. Now thinking of buying S210 E55AMG 4Matic, might delay the idea of Command

I too am thinking of doing the retrofit to my c. I know what parts are needed and how the work is done and I am confident I can accomplish it. But, the only thing holding me back is that my dealership won't re-program my car, or that they will charge an astronomical fee to do so. I would love to call them up and ask them, but what should I ask them. Should I just call up and say, "can you program my car to have the command system if I retrofit it myself, and for how much." or will they look at me like I have 10 heads and I need technical words?

Dont worry about the programming. I never had mine reprogrammed and works just fine.
The only parts you really need are:
- Comand unit,
- display,
- dual fakra plug adapter for gps and bluetooth antennas (3,27 Euro),
- display cable adapter from kabeldaviko (25 Euro)
- gps antenna (aftermarket) with fakra plug (1,5m cable is best) (15 Euro)
If you have questions, pm me.

You dont need the programming, but IMO its well worth it, the IC info displays additional info not shown on the main screen, such as distance to next "event" and total distance to set adress.
And when you dont have any adress set you see current street name and direction.

Oh really, thats the only thing that the programming adds. Never mind then.
Last question: Where have all of you bought the stuff from? Every time I try to use the part number on a mercedes oem discount website it says that they don't carry that part number. And lastly, how much has it cost you out the door for everything (excluding labor)?

Perform the programming, there is nothing worse than a system that is half finished, I mostly use the IC-display while navigating.
I am guessing I have spent around $1800 for all the parts needed, all parts were bought from the dealership I work at.

<Objective>
I want to add in a digital TV tuner* into our Command via the Video Aux.
<Action>
- I have gone into the engineering mode at 7.7 Video Aux and turned it ON.
<Issue>
- When I switch to Video at Command, there is only a single option, that is, Video DVD.
<Question>
- How could I get the Video Aux option make available to me?
- How could I connect the digital TV tuner into the command?
- What item/s do I need?
- Where could I purchase it online?
<More Details>
- The green Fakra connector on my comand was used for the rear view (or reverse) camera
May I consult the subject-expertise on how I could achieve my objective?
Thank you.
Best Regards.

Also look for a Mercedes dealer mechanic that does work on the side. I get my work done typically at 1/3 to 1/2 the dealer price besides the basic maintenance like oil/filter changes that I do myself.

+1 on the use of the IC display, it does provide succinct information for NAV.

If you enlarge the picture youll see the part number, any dealer should be able to order them for you.

If you do not get the tool, you can do it with a scraper/metal spatula/small screwdriver/"carefully bent hanger wire or #12 wire" too. You must be very careful, even with the special tool, if you have not done it before.
