In my friend's experience with his E550, after about 2,500 miles his mpg is now 21mpg mixed driving. In my current brand new E350, my current mpg is 13-16mpg, but like him, I'm expecting my current mpg to improve after 2,000 miles or so.

I am getting 20.63 MPG (11.4 L/100km) with mostly city driving for my C300 4Matic. On the highway, the best I can manage is approx 31.36 MPG (7.5 L/100km).

I have a 350, and day to day in mixed driving I am getting between 22-25 mpg. On my trip to work taking the back roads I have been able to get it almost to 30 MPG, one way. On long trips I can average between 30-35.

C350
I recently reached a personal best of 29.7 mpg on the GSP after about 80 miles an hour, I noticed at after 25 miles of driving I attained 25 mpg. From there it gradually increased. I always try to keep fuel economy in mind (who doesnt) and I noticed that the MB fuel computers dont rapidly jump like other cars, for example Land Rover, Nissan, etc. (I mean if you reset your economy and take your foot off, it takes time to increase mileage, unlike those cars which jump to 99 mpg)

Ok. It's a Diesel, you Americans don't get that (at least in some states).

My C 250 CDI (it's a 2.2 liter engine with 204 HP/500 NM torque) is doing (with a somewhat "stressed" driving) about 6.4 litres/100 kilometres. (Someone please translate that to Imperial).

Max is like 8.5 l/100 Km (very seldom) and min. is 5.2 l/100 km (very often in relaxed driving).

I DO use the instant consumption bar when driving relaxed, but in town and in the presenve of whimps I enter "rush" mode, so... i'm sure I could do even better, but it's OK as it is (dealer tells me it will get even better with the mileage (car is only 1 month "old")

Happy to say I averaged 29MPG on my way down and up from the Jersey shore yesterday (daytrip)... She did wonderfully, now if I could only say the same about my sunburn...

Since getting the vehicle in early June, I've consistently driven about 550km (343.75 miles) per tank of gas. Since our tank is approximately 67L ( /3.785 US Gal = 17.70 Gal), I drive 8.2km / L or 12.18L / 100km

In miles:

19.42 mpg

Car has just over 3,000km on it, driven mainly in Sport mode. I haven't noticed a mileage difference yet between 91 and 94 Octane.

Those are my observations.

25.5 average @ 80MPH on Cruise Control on a 45 mile commute. That's if I behave - it goes down the more agressive I become. This is Non 4M

I have noticed that my mileage has dropped from 23MPG to about 21MPG (all city driving) since the install of the x-pipe. Funny thing is that I don't think it has anything to do with the mechanicals but the fact that I like shifting at a little higher RPM to tap into a little more sound while running through the gears...pretty sure it's worth it though!

When I had a 4-speed VW I learned something about red lights on hills in Seattle. The handbrake is your friend! (So what does MB do with the handbrake? Oh yeah, they have an assist to prevent rolling backward.)

I also learned to avoid driving east and west in Seattle. You have far fewer problems with north and south routes, and much better mileage. Depends on where you start and finish, but if all you're doing is east/west, you should consider the bus (distance can't be all that much, eh?).

I'm doing a lot of miles in both city and highway driving and averaging over 27 mpg with my C, in the Seattle area. But I don't still do much east/west in the city!

I have 12000 miles on the car and have averaged 24.6 mpg since day one.
I don't drive it like I stole it but I do like to get on it every now and then.
30 mpg on highway at 72 mph on cruise control.

Took it for a long drive totalling 1000 miles.
For average speed at 70miles with minimal AC it was 29.6miles.
For speeds around 80-85 with very less AC it was around 26-27.5miles....

Is it true that the max torque of 500 NM is achieved only between 1600 and 1800 RPM or all the MB sites are showing wrong figures.
I would expect 1600 to 2800 RPM.
To me this range seems too short.

I've got the C350 and get at least 17 MPG when driving it full speed on the autobahn. My average is at 21.8 and I've got around 2400 miles. Also, when I first got my car, I had better gas mileage than that, around 23 I think (I keep it on l/100km but I've flipped over now and again to check)

Mine always seems a couple MPG optimistic compared with my calculations.

I experience this too. My reading at the pump is consistently about 0.5-0.75 mph lower than what the trip computer tells me.

i get roughly about 25-26 mpg, and I do just about 75% commute. I dont know how you guys get 30 mpg on highway and I drive probably no faster than 75 mph. Maybe it get better if i drive faster.

I love this car

So I took the car on it's first road trip a couple weeks ago and loved it!

First pic: 50 miles into the trip, cruise control set to almost 80 mph - 32.5 mpg
Second pic: 5 hours later at the end of the trip, cruise control moved up to 85 mph for 85% of the trip - 30.8 mpg
Third pic: wide open texas road I was on the whole way, a perfect day for a road trip
