What about putting 5 instead of 0?(on C300 PII Panorama roof 6CD changer)
I saw on Ebay and it's kinda okay item.(is it genuine?)
Just for self-satisfaction.

IMHO, this is the same as people who put the AMG badge on their non-AMG cars, or buy knock-off LV, Prada, or Chanel purses. I know you said it's for "self-satisfaction", but to some degree (more or less) it's also to show off to other people (which is basically what the badging on cars, or the signature emblems on high-end purses is there for... to let others know what brand/model you have).

I personally think that it's a waste of money, but that's just my opinion. People who know something about W204 Mercedes will be able to tell that your car is a C300 with C350 badging. If you're OK with the potential criticism, then the decision is really up to you (whatever will make you happy/happier). If you're sensitive to the potential criticism, then you may be happier keeping your "C300" badge. Just my 2 cents...

Your car isn't a c350, why put a c350 badge on it. Don't be a poser. Does it really make you feel better lying to yourself?

leave it alone or debadge it.

you might as well put a C550, if you are considering labeling it something it's not.

Thanks for your opinions.
Why de-baging is kinda okay and looks nice? and re-badging is like lying to yourself? If someone's car comes out a badge with 300, is he/she supposed to show that "yes, my car is this"? Why hiding?
If re-bading was lying, de-bading could be possible deception.

2cents.

no, debadging is for symmetry and a cleaner look. Totally different than rebadging. There are threads of posers on pretty much every car forum of people rebadging their car to something they're not. It's not just exclusive to mercedes...like this Hyundai

I would also de-beadge everything and just leave the stars.... I prefer the cleaner look.

Plus, saying your car is a c350 instead of a c300 is like a girl walking around with a shirt that says "These are D-Cups" when she has C-Cups. Doesn't make any damn sense, and why lie in the first place?

not trying to be mean but if the way you get self satisfaction is by rebadging your car, i suggest you badge it as 'Brabus CK63 RS McLaren AMG Black Series' to get the most out of it.

personally i dont agree with the method of boasting/lying to mend one's self esteem. Imo, a c300 is a lot to be satisfied and proud of already.

ps. rebadging is like the girl who tells everyone that she's a D when shes actually a C; while debadging is like a girl who never said anything about her size. The first case = lying, but the latter has nth to do with lies or any sort of deception.

I'm sorry, i dont mean anything offensive or personal, but I'm just not a fan of posers

Thanks for your opinion.
I don't think it's lying or boasting. Someone likes to debadge or others likes to rebadge it.(not to a different car extremely)

People can criticize for anything. Maybe one guy could criticize me for having a better car than his. Do people care it's 5 or 0? No one does. Of cousre, we do sometimes. Because we're owners. Even though we're are, we don't take a look at closely whenever we see a car whether that car has a one inch larger disk or not.

Let's put it this way. Okay if it were boasting or lying, could it be a public threat or making others angry or pissed off? No. Why don't we get a little more satisfaction with a little amount of money IF YOU LIKE TO DO? (I love my car itself for sure)

If I want to buy a t-shirt written MB,do I have to buy from a offcial dealer all the time?
Are you gonna give them so called "potential criticizm" not wearing a genuine MD shirt?
I don't think so. I think if you like something you could do it.

really appreciate your inputs.

Well, now you have both sides of the "coin". Some people said "YES", others said "NO". Hopefully this helped you decide...

I was tempted to put AMG badge on my C300 when I learned a friend's C280 in Taiwan had the AMG badge put on by none other than Merdedes-Benz because he had the AMG package option..
Apparently, Taiwan is not the only country that MB would put the AMG badge on non-AMG car if you pay for the AMG package..

Of course..the idea was quickly scratched after getting some negative feedbacks here..
I am still amused that MB would put AMG badge on those cars..maybe just to make those who paid big $$ for the AMG package feel better??

I don't like debadging..but I do like symmetry..maybe I will see if I can find some badge that spell out SPORT...

I have my eyes set on the Eisemann exhaust and at $3200, I got to find a way to pay for it.

to the OP: you said that people would not care about the difference between the 5 and the 0, then why are you doing it?
