Tired of the damn OEM door pins!!
Driving home from a wedding reception July 4th weekend and one of my friends pulled the rear doorpin up and broke off the rear passenger side one. I've already been to the dealership for the rear driver side once already. Could they have not figured out how easily these things are broken?
Does anyone have any idea as to what I could use to just simply cover the hole up all together? I'd prefer no doorpins instead of some cheap ones that just break off with a small tug.
Any info on what I could use for door pin plugs/blockoff would be great.
thanks in advance.

I bought satin aluminum pins from ForMyMercedes.com.
The fronts are very easy to replace, just screwed in.
The rears I had to pull the stock really hard to remove them. Because the rears are a different design than the front, I cut about 1/2" off the aluminum pins (with a Demmel and a cutting disc) so that it doesn't stick out so much. I squeezed some Liquid Nails gel inside the pin and pushed it back on the plastic rod with supports the pin. You need to push hard for good contact, but not too hard which causes the entire pin to fall into the door panel, which happened to me (the door locks still work, but the pins are not visible). I may have to remove the rear door panels to push them back up.
Another option I'm thinking of is to cover the hole altogether with plastic plugs. I never have anyone in the back seat and I don't ever remember having anyone manually lock or unlock the door using the pins on any of my cars.
I bought 3/8" plastic appliance hole covers from Home Depot. Sprayed a layer of plastic primer and a layer of black textured matte paint so it matched the door panel.
This is how it looks like:
They just snap securely and flush into place. My car is in the shop today but I will take photos of them installed shortly.

That's great, I'd love to see some finished shots!

Cars destined for America have generally had different pins to the rest of us & they are pretty crappy - why - who knows?

If you want stock looking knobs for the front doors order A123 766 00 22. These pins look identical to the original ones in the 204, except they are shorter and will then be flush when locked and stick up maybe 1/4 inch when unlocked. This little bit does not bother my arm at all. Cheap and dealers can get them quick.

I'm not sure if my dad's C class is the same as the American versions, but once we get above about 20 km/h, the doors lock automatically. Also, when the car is not moving, you can just open the door handle to get out. I don't really get why people are having so much trouble with the door pins.

THE PROBLEM => THEY STICK UP ABOUT A 1" (locked) and 1.5" (unlocked)
...........................^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^
this means when you are at any drive though... or want to rest your arm... or when you pass something out your window...etc. it jabs you in your arm!... and it's fragile... and plastic... and looks ugly.
definitely gettin some black pins with the benx logo on it from ebay tho... as for the back ill deal with those later on they are not so important to me.

I guess you guys like the security of the doors locking when the vehicle goes into motion? Because if not you can change the setting via the instrument cluster to not lock the doors. This is how I have mine and there is no reason for anyone to touch the pins since the door is always unlocked.

Thanks for all the info.
Just went to MB Dealership to have them replace the broken door pin. I asked the SR if they knew of any piece to just cover the hole for the rear door pin and his best guess was taking one of the push pins from the trunk liner and shoving it in there =\
I'm just gonna take some measurements and make a stop at home depot to see if I can find a plug to fit.

Just bought some Brabus ones. Got a shop that'll take care of the rears. Will post pics as soon as I get them in. Supposedly they sit flush.

Ok, the official Brabus pins look like will work for front AND back. Fronts are normal screw on. The rear pins are shorter and wider and fit over the existing rear pin like a cover held by pressure on the plastic. Front sits flush, rear doesn't. You have to cut off the nub tip of the OEM pin to be able to push the rear pin down enough to sit flush.
I'll cut the rears this weekend and take some pics for next week.
