Thumbs up About to take the plunge into the MB world!

Hey everyone my name is Mo, I'm coming from the VW/Audi/BMW world and I want to say I am very happy I have finally found a good MB forum and am looking forward to being a regular on here!
Second, I'm looking at an 09 C300 6spd with pano roof that I am very close to purchasing but I have a few questions:

- How are you 6spd owners liking the manual transmission?
- What kind of deals were you able to get in terms of leasing? I'm thinking the ball is more in my court since it's a 6spd that is more than likely going no where.
- Any issues to look out for on the test drive? I've heard the w204's are pretty solid aside from some minor issues.
- The car doesn't have the bi-xenons, I wish it did but oh well...I've seen some threads on here about swapping hid bulbs into the halogen projectors...are people doing this without ballasts?

That's all I can think of right now, so thank you in advance!

Oh, and I'm a photographer, here are some pics, hope you enjoy!

Welcome to MBWorld! I was part of the VW seen for awhile also. I have a GLK 4matic which I feel was a great purchase. It is very solid and has nice power from the factory (will be upping the hp as soon as I can). I have driven several different version C Class rides and find that they are all nice with the only major difference being the power output. No matter what W204 you get I think you will be happy!

Welcome to MBworld. I have a 2008 C300S 6MT and I love the car. As I mentioned in other post, my C300 doesn't quite handle like my 330i but I'm getting use to it. IMO, its handling is between luxury MB and sporty BMW.

Nice pics...

W204 2008 C350
monizzle, I have tested the C300 manual, and from my experience make sure you do some city driving, compared to strictly highway test drive, so you can experience the gear changes and clutch work in these conditions. As for the highway - very smooth cruiser, heavy tank-like feel, which I am sure most of us like!
Good luck !

Mercedes Benz
Monizzle first, I'd like to welcome you to MBWORLD. Second, you'll be very satisfied with the Benz. Third, the C300 w/ 6 Speed is a awesome car. It might me only 228 HP/221 TQ, but that little sucker moves. As far as problems with the w204 they are really none. The car is really built well. The only thing thats annoying is the door pins. Just to let you know you can get bi-xenons for it. I think its PP2. Not sure about the lease though. Either way, enjoy the car, be safe, and happy modding. Any other questions just ask.

Thanks everyone for the input!
I went into the dealership and apparently the car is sold (which I don't really buy) and they're trying to push a silver one on me, I will let you know how it goes!
