Question Fog light glass broke :(

My right fog light's glass broke last week (maybe got hit by a stone while driving on highway). I was wondering what is the cheapest way and easiest way to fix it? Will the MB dealership change the glass or will they change the whole fog light? Will I be able to just replace the glass or will I have to get the whole fog light replaced? Have this happen to anyone of you out there on the road? Thanks for the help.

So they come by the whole assembly? I think I'm going to order these and install them myself. Do anyone know the part numbers for the right fog light? Thanks.

Me too!

Just drove from NYC to PGH and noticed my lower left fog light glass is blown out? The glass is too fragile, has a cool look but what a drag. I too would like to know the part number to see if it is worth fixing myself?

best,

Here you:

And yes it only sells as a whole assembly, including bulb and bulb holder.

I'll take a guess and say he has a Sport. Mine broke shortly after I got it, luckily the whole glass didn't come out, so I just left it cracked. One would think MB would have addressed this problem by moving the fog lights back into the bumper like the Luxury versions.

Thx panzer a lot for the part numbers. I already bought the Lamin-x (should've bought them earlier....) to protect them. They are really easy to break.

This is what I found on the web with the part number. Is this a good price? ($154.00):

http://www.lamin-x.com/Mercedes-Benz...8-on-s/524.htm

so there are two different ones on the site, one for $13 and one for $18. Which one fits?

The $13 is for the Lux and the $18 is for the sport.

Here, I found cheaper ones ($88.55) with the part numbers at parts.com:
http://www.parts.com/oemcatalog/inde...archCatalogOEM

The problem I'm running into is why there's so many of them but I only saw clk, cl, and r350. What's the difference between the catalogs? Do anyone know which one would fit a '09 C350 with Sport package. Thanks.

I found something even cheaper on another website ($50.08):
http://www.thebenzbin.com/parts/?N=1...668+11921+9209

What's confusing is both of these websites didn't update to 2009. I could only find stock replacements while searching for 2008 C-Class. Do anyone know if the 2008 W204 fog light assembly is going to fit the 2009 W204? Any suggestions?

I'm pretty sure those aren't the Hella/German made. Those are most likely DEPO/Taiwan made. They have plastic lenses thought, which should be more durable, then glass.

It was an OEM part from a NJ benz dealership, exact same part with perfect fit.
A b**ch to install driver's side but it's all done.
Glad to have my car in pristine condition again.

So the passenger side fog light is easier to change?
Its a PIA but still DIY-able right?

Both are a PIA but not hard just tight spaces and you have to look and figure out how to get the actual light assembly out of the bumper. I posted directions awhile ago.

It's diy-able... You just have to be a little creative with the tools you have to maneuver behind the assembly. I opened only the grill surround and pulled the lamp out from below the bumper (removed only 1 screw from the underpanel)

haven't seen Ron's post but I'm sure it's more comprehensive

enjoy
