Smile MKB vs Kleeman Engine Mods for C200K (W204)

Sup guys,

Might sound like a nub's question but I was wondering, for a standard C200K, which tuner will produce a faster car? Yea, that sounds really nubbish.

MKB : http://www.mkb-tuning.de/content/en/...prod_gruppe=11

KLEEMAN: http://www.kleemann.dk/Performance/Engines/R4M271.aspx

Not too sure whether the difference in torque or power would lead to a faster car. Can someone help me with this?

Cheers!

MKB is making some pretty substantial claims. I wonder if they are getting these numbers off a "best run" on the dyno or simply extrapolating what gains they "expect" an engine to see.

Well, Kleeman's specs are also expected, not actual results...right?

MKB based those numbers on the W203, on the beginning it was ready to order. But now it's in prepperation. The W204 ECU's from the C180K and C200K (w204) are difficult to re-program. Here in The Netherlands there are much tuners, but no one can give you more than about 15hp with only ECU tuning.

Only with another sc pully the give big claims.

I asked kleemann if they have any dyno numbers for the K-Box on the W204, but they dont have because they havent tested it... so thats also based on the W203 i think.

I have the Kleemann headers and cat, and the car is deff. faster and runs smoother, and the sound is perfect. Havent been on a Dyno so dont know if the 25hp they claim is true. Dont think it will be that much.

Here are some numbers from a well know company in The Netherlands:
They will also fit a new SC pully, it takes one day to fitt it and it cost € 2088,00

http://www.digitune.nl/2008mbc200kompr.htm

First i was thinking of doing that, but with another sc pully you will deff. void your warranty.

Thanks heaps Petje. Although, the MKB is swapping the entire SC for a better, more efficient SC, so that should be better shouldn't it? Any ideas on that? And don't worry too much about the warranty.

I asked MKB 1 year ago, and they say its only remapping the ECU:

Quote MKB:
Hello Patrick,

we can offer you MKB54002710187 as following:

Price: € 1461,- + VAT + freightcosts

It is necessary to send us the ECU.

The 186hp version is only ECU remapping and they have the other tuning:

Increase in performance to 184 kW (250 HP) at 6200 rpm, 300 Nm at 2800-5100 rpm
modification:
engine conversion with special pistons, bigger and more effective supercharger,
manifold s/s, metal catalytic converters and complete exhaust system s/s,
special intercooler, thermostat and sports air filter, adaptation of ECU.

Thanks Petje. Yea, I was contacting this local dealer in Malaysia who deals with Benz upgrades. For some reason, MKB wasn't able to give me a performance upgrade, something to do with Malaysia's humidity, weather etc. Oh well, KLEEMAN it is

MKB doesnt come with an upgrade, the new ECU's on our C200K and C180K are difficult to reprogram, so MKB was a little to quick to put the claim on their website.

Kleemann is good stuff, the offer a pulley upgrade with K-box and headers and cat for your car.

Yea, gonna have to get my local dealer to get the parts for me. Kleeman also supplies their own brake kits for the c200k, but its a bit pricey. I might just go for AMG's.
