Front Bumper... GONE! Please Help Me :'(
Was on the highway last night when suddenly, I saw the car in front of me hit something. The next thing I saw was a bunch of cotton flying my way and before I could react, I heard my car hit something hard. I look at my rear view mirror and saw a BED MATRESS lying there. I got off the highway and pull over to check what happened. There is a vertical crack around 7-8 cm on the left side of my bumper, below my side marker (I’ll post pictures when I burrow a camera from my friend tomorrow). I went in today to check how much it will cost to fix. They say they will have to replace the whole bumper. The price they gave me is $3400. ARE YOU KIDDDING ME? That is just ridiculous. The guys there told me he doesn’t want to repair anything and want to replace everything that is damaged. This is the list he gave me:
Bumper cover w/amg w/o lamp $1016
Support panel w/ amg $67
LT support panel w/amg $35
LT other grille w/amg $48
RT lower molding $53
LT lower molding $53
Lt fog lamp bezel w/bi-xenon sport $89 (bi-xenon?)
Fog lamp w/amg $195.58
LT fender liner front w/o amg $101
LT rocker molding w/o amg $431
Others… $4
Labor $1000
Tax $308
----------------------------------
Total: $3400
No matter how many times I look at the list, it looks like a rip off to me.
I remember I saw a C63 bumper on Ebay on sale for only $1000 plus shipping. Has anyone done this before? Replacing their original sport AMG bumper with the C63 front bumper? Will it fit? Another question I have in mind is the C63 fog lights. I don’t think C350 AMG Sport fog light can fit the C63 bumper but maybe they can? I’m trying to a cheaper way to fix this and I think replacing the C63 bumper would cost me less or the same price. This is just my estimate. What is everyone else’s take on this?
Thanks a lot for the help. I’ve never done this before. I’m free to any ideas. I just don’t want to pay the $3400 they gave. Thanks again.

THat is meant for the conversion from a c300 or c350. It won't fit a C63. It's a replica.

Body repaires are not cheap and if you want your car to look the way it was before the accident, is better to replaced all the parts than patch them up, put your Insurance to work.

According to my estimating software these are the prices (but call a dealer with your Vin # check if they have changed)
Bumper cover w/amg w/o lamp $670
Support panel w/ amg There isnt a left support panel.
support panel w/amg $40 (there only a center) there is a left absober but it comes with the cover
LT other grille w/amg $28.50
RT lower molding $32
LT lower molding $32
Lt fog lamp bezel w/bi-xenon sport $53 (bi-xenon?)
Fog lamp w/amg $129.00
LT fender liner front w/o amg $60
LT rocker molding w/o amg $not listed
If you post pics i can give you an Idea of the Labor and Repair vs. Replace

Can't help you without pics. If the bumper is simply cracked and all pieces are intact and not much distortion, there are shops that can perform a plastic weld repair. 3M and Fusor also make some pretty great bumper repair products.

Yeah, my insurance is going to cover for this, but i'm still trying to make sure about the price they're willing to cover. I'm still thinking of changing mine to C63 front bumper. I don't really like the brabus one, i don't know... Anyone know the part#s for the C63 fog lights?
After a long wait... I finally got my hands on a camera. Enjoy...?

If you get OEM c63 bumper, you'll also need to get the quarter panels and might as well get the hood to get everything to line up proper. Also, I'd avoid getting that aftermarket C63 bumper on ebay till they post pics of it actually mounted on a car to see how well the fitment is.

Quarter panel?
Hmm. That's the panel between the rear door and taillight. Part of the body. The aluminum front fenders can be removed.

So,duct tape? I think you can get it in white. and you can use black tape to hold a flashlight in place to replace that fog. Save money big time!
Um, take it to a shop, get it replaced!

Can anyone help me with the part #s for C63 fog lights? The C63 fog lights are going to cost a bit more than what the shop estimated (C350 fog lights) so I want to buy them off parts.com so the insurance can cover everything and I won't have to pay more, maybe just a little more. Anyone know? Thanks a lot.

I would say that if they didn't furnish you a picture with the hood down, then there must be a problem with the fit or something else they don't want you to know about.
