Transmission service interval looks wrong
I got my car back this afternoon from having the transmission service and brake fluid replaced. This was the 39,000/2year service.
I thought I'd take a look to see when the transmission would need to be serviced again. I couldn't find where it would need to be serviced again on my C300 w204. Then I started looking at the other cars maintenance schedule and they didn't show one after the 39,000 mile mark either.
Is this a misprint in the service book?

I asked my S/A why only once at 40,000 miles and his reply was that by 40,000 the box was fully run-in, the filter would have collected any swarf, and once changed no further swarf would be produced. So, no further changes needed

HTH,
Thanks for responding.
I did a little digging and it looks like the transmission started off a few generations ago being a sealed transmission that never required service. Then somewhere along the way, I guess they found out that it need a good flush and then would be good for the rest of its life.
I'm a little surprised that they don't require regular flushes as domestic cars do. But I'm happy to not have to spend on this every couple of years.

A touch of advice. In the US they recommend one change on the 7G & no further. Throw away market. In the rest of the world where people expect high mileage from a Benz they recommend every 60,000 Kms - I recommend you change fluid every 40,000 miles.
