I think I have made another mistake on the description of the vehicle. I called it the sport model because it has the 18" wheels. I don't see any reference to the "sport" model on the sticker so I'm thinking it is probably a "lux". actually the sticker does not refer to anything but a C300. Is the sport model the manual tranny?
Before you go to a lot of greif, set your tire pressure to the recommended pressure in the driver's door sill. If its overinflated, your ride comfort will suffer.
Just an FYI, the 2009 C300 rides better than the 2008 C300. I've got the 2008 and have driven 2009 loaners. I wish there was some way to change out the components that account for the difference in the ride.

What you nee to get is a loaner while you still have your 2008 at home. Then it is all about swapping out the wheel/tires springs/shocks. I doubt there is anything else.

It would be interesting to find out what the part numbers are between an 08 and an 09 C300 for the springs, shocks/struts.
I think trying to replace the springs would be over the top, but I could see doing the shocks or struts.
Your C300 Luxury is not the Sport version and adding 18" wheels doesn't make it one. I have also changed the stock ugly 17s to AMG 18s on my 2008 C300 Lux and found that by reducing the rear tire pressure to 35psi the ride on less than perfect pavement is improved noticeably. If you do this, be sure to reset the tire pressure sensing system.
So, there are no suspension components to "downgrade" to since you already have them.
You could change tire brands if by research you can find quieter ones. Go to tirerack.com and look at their comparison testing.

Might want to check your tire pressure before doing anything since in my experience every time my car goes to the tire shop and sometimes dealer they over inflate by 10-15 lbs - just trashes the ride
