CAMPAIGN 2009080005 TRUNK LID ????
I went to the service for noise on my C300 today. When I get my car back, I found at the end of their service list " CAMPAIGN 2009080005 TRUNK LID ", which was never asked and took 1 hrs 22.. Does any one know about this??
On Invoice,
F** CAMPAIGN 2009080005 TRUNK LID
Cause: F
000000 (02-6599)
22 W8 (N/C)
466 02-6599 1 HRS 22 ADJUSTED TRUNK STOPS PER CAMPAIGN
This was never asked but they did it without explanation. I found it after I got home..

Some hoods and trunks have alignment issues. See this thread:

Hmmmm.....I just went out and did some "gunsighting" and fingertip runs across the gaps. The vertical V-shape gaps inboard of the taillamps are darn near perfect. I did notice a very slight symmetrical underflush condition to the quarter panel at the leading side edges of the top decklid surface, just inboard of the C pillar touchdowns, and a slight overflush at the trailing edge of the top surface just about where my spoiler sits. So slight as not to be a concern, and absolutely no BSRs from the decklid. I will inquire and possibly ask to leave it alone at the next service because in this case, "If it ain't broke...."

i might bring it up with the service advisor to see what exactly does this do, and have him show me if i have an existing problem with a misaligned trunk lid. If its not that bad, then I would suggest not doing it either

They did this to my 2009 during a recent service visit - I had no problems with this before, and I couldn't see that they had done anything and nothing has changed afterwards.
I think they perform this work just so they can bill MBUSA for some service time.

I don't beleive the campaign is about fitment. But more about the position of the stops. I beleive it is setup so that as your trunk seal "wears" / compresses it has less spring to it. Since it has less spring there is a change the trunk lid can contact the bumper / body if slammed hard.
