Now that I have your attention. To all who installed (Or plan to install) a backup camera DO NOT get the latest Command update it is no longer available in the engineering menu. I'm going to miss it.

If I retrofited my car and I take the car to MB Dealer will they update the COMAND? Cause I heard if the car does not have COMAND from factory they wont update it

Most likely not since they know from the VIN what was installed. I also have been trying to get mine updated for over a year.

I recently updated my COMAND at my dealership to whatever is most current at the time, and lost the backup cam initialization via engineering menu. But I was able to re-enable it again through my VIM module.

LOADED 08' C350 & 14' GLK-350 Diamond White (P1, MM, AMG Pkg, Ln Trkng, Htd Sts, Keylss Go)
i have the latest command software with audio fade out and all the new features...
my backup cam still works perfect...
it disappeared at first, i just had to reenable it... in the new command software, it is labeled differently...
dont worry ron, just do a search and find out what the new menu option is, i dont know off the top of my head, but trust me, it works and you are in no trouble as far as getting it back...

Go to:
Engineering Mode 1/2
goto 7 HU Setting
goto 7.7 HU Parameter 3/3
scroll down to #18 Rear View Camera
say not installed
click on this and get the following options
not installed
SRVC
DRVM
DRVM-PSC
Set the SRVC option on and video aux off. Next exit from the Engineering Mode, remove your key and close the door. Wait about one minute (it is important) and than your camera should work.

Ron, you almost got me, I have the latest update and the camera was still there and I was wondering if there is another update that might get installed when I go to the dealer for Service B soon - No engine radiator fluid flush for me, as per the Service B thread.
