Curb Wheels
My wife drove over the weekend and curb my left rear side at a McD's drive thru. Any way to have it repaired?
Thanks!
Thanks!

there are curb rash kits or you can pay around 200-250 to have it refaced...assuming the damage isn't too substantial. Keep in mind, if getting a badly damaged wheel fixed (bent or misshaped) they will heat the wheel in order to reform it properly. Reheating a wheel will contribute to loss of integrity. It will NOT be as strong as it once was. good luck.

I think some body shops can fix the damage. I think they charge around 90 a wheel? So if this kind of thing happens quite a bit I suggest having your wife mess up the wheel more then take it in to get it repaired...unless you don't mind spending 100 everytime.

like i said, there are a number of products and DIY's online that will fix minor curb rashes. if you just have a scratch, you shouldn't need the wheel refinished.
I'm coming off of many BMWs and the alloy they use in their OEM wheels consists of marsh mellow me thinks. softest alloy i've ever seen...albeit, light!
MB's alloy used within the 204 oem wheel line, although i doubt is the same across all the lines seems significantly harder/tougher/more resistant to daily driving.
I try to post facts with proof to back it up. In this case I have none, just observation.

If you have the "Big Ears " rear view mirrors it may be a good idea to lower them a touch so the kerb is a little easier to see.

Go down to hardware & buy some medium & fine sandpaper , body filler , paint colour & clear coat & give them to your wife. She will do a fastidious job & most likely it will not happen again.
