Lighting anyone? Clear sides, LEDS, Polargs, 6000k HID lows & fogs COMPLETED in 6 hrs

Hey guys,

Well my C300 Sport 4matic is no longer a virgin. I picked the car up about 2 weeks ago and the modding has begun.

My carlsson style carbon fiber front lip is in, my painted amg trunk spoiler is in, along with all my lighting upgrades. Oh yeah my MRR GT-1 wheels in black with polished lip will be in next week with Pirelli P Zero Nero tires

Today me and my buddy tackled my lighting upgrades. My car had only P1 options so no HIDs.

I ordered 2 H7 HID kits from DDM Tuning with error cancelling resistors. 3 sets of M4 Polargs, LED license plate lights from JBSPEED, and ebay clear side markers for my white car.

All in all it took about 6 hours to do. Some **** was a pain in the *** to get off, and HIDs in the fogs are a bit of a pain, because you gotta makeshift the bulb holder to fit the hid setup.

Well here are some crappy pics from my LG chocolate 3 (2mp) cell phone camera! I just got in, want to eat dinner and shower. I will get more pics with my nice digi when the other stuff is installed next week or so, and I get the car inspected so I can tint it 35%, paint my tails, and vinyl my roof. I am also painting the grills flat slat part matte black. -- Enjoy --

On a side note: the polargs are definitely worth the $6-8 a set. The eyelids are 100% improved from stock, and the side markers also. Definitely worth the couple bucks they were. I'd highly recommend them to everyone.

only low beams done here (you can see the difference):

COMPLETED!:

and the wheels i ordered, however, they are customizing mine and making the center cap black, leaving the ring around it chrome.

Can I know which error code eliminator you bought? I've checked from the DDM website. They seem to have one called the Error Code Eliminator 3 and another called the Error Code Eliminator 4

Can't wait to see it completed!
I think a black MB center cap might look better.

A few weeks ago the error code eliminators were $40/pair.
Now they're $20/pair! Will they stay this way?

For the fog lights, once you jack the car up a bit and go around back near the wheelwell you can get in. The plastic holder that holds the light into the housing we had to modify, we had to cut a hole in it so fit the wires through and the new hid light through so it would hold and snap in like the original. If we didn't make that hole it obviously would never fit.. it snapped in, put everything back together and 3m taped everything down - we were able to get all wires up pretty high which is good.

The foglights get hot when you touch them, but thats because there isn't a lot of room, anyones fogs on this car I would think would get hot to the touch. What a difference. 6000k fogs on only when its cloudy / rainy like today with the eyelids looks f'in awesome

I'm planning on doing this soon. Maybe I will order the DDM kit tonight or tomorrow.

I have one question:
1. Where are possible mounting spots? Pictures would be nice. Maybe with a little MS Paint arrows/circles?

Yes I will gladly take pics, you would think with 4 resistors + the error cancelling things it would get crowded on each side.. but i was able to bring all the wires and boxes up so by the fogs it didn't have to stay down there (in case water got in there).. like I said with doing the fogs I drilled out the stock casing for where the fog light bulb goes, and its perfect.

The lighting where all the wires are and ballast + resistor + error cancelling piece looks VERY clean.

I will have pics of my setup along with pics of my car probably next week. My car is going to have the grill painted flat black along with putting my carlsson style cf lip and painted amg trunk spoiler. I will post pics of where I mounted everything under the hood with the digital so you can all see how it looks in there.

The license plate lights are leds with resistors.. I ordered them from forum sponsor JBSPEED check the lighting section for info.

The eyelids and side markers are both M4 polarg bulbs... got them on ebay.

License plate lights = about $50ish and the m4s are $6-9 depending who you go to.

Thanks for the info. By the way ur eyelids look like they are LEDs. I have the same bulbs as you on the side markers but I don't know if they are going to light up as much on the eyelids compare to if I put LEDs. What you think or recommend to do?

Try search for pics of polargs with eyelids. if you want a pure white look then go with the polargs..

Royce what do you have on ur eyelids? Factory, Polargs or LED's? Also, would the Polargs bulbs throw messages on my dashboard of bulb being out?

I ordered my DDM kit Sunday morning. What's funny is I paid for UPS Ground but the tracking info has it as 3 Day Select. It will arrive tomorrow, California all the way to North Carolina!

So I'm still wondering about those mounting locations. I don't think the wheel well will work because it's curved. Anybody have pictures? Most of the HID threads don't really show pictures of where the ballasts were mounted.
