I did my B-service at 20k for about 20 bucks
. It pays off being a tech! If any of you have a question about the services let me know I'll try to help you out.

More on the service B: Finally got a quote from the stealearship in Puerto Rico for Service B after asking for it for at least a month. The Service B (MFB-24) basic plan includes 19 maintenance services for only $399.95 (well over 400 dollars when taxes are applied). Services include:
1. Oil and Oil filter change
2. Engine Protection (don't know what that is)
3. MOA and CF5 Installation (again don't know what that is)
4. Inspect and condition fluids
5. Inspect headlamps, horn, and wipers (they already charged me $144.00 for changing my wiper blades. Shame on me)
6. Inspect hazard and turning lights.
7. Inspect dashboard warning lights
8. Inspect seat belts
9. Inspect tire wear
10. Inspect tire pressure
11. Visual inspection for fluid leakage
12. Test brake system (we all test this item every day)
13. Inspect Disk and brake pads
14. Inspect front and rear suspension system
15. Check headlight alignment. Correct if wrong.
16. Inspect power steering.
17. Replace Cabin Air Filter.
18. Tire rotation.
19. (This is a good one) Diverse Materials.
As you can see, there are a lot of checks and services that we can do ourselves (I am not a mechanic but know that most of this services can be done by just searching for them on this forum.) Over? Not yet. Then is the complete plan which adds 2 additional maintenance services for $260.00 on top of the $399.95. These services are:
1. Change Brake fluid.
2. Clean injectors and fuel system.
So far the bill is for $659.95 (before taxes). But that is not all my friends. Then there is the recommended Plus plan for $194.95 on top of the $659.95. This “Plus Plan” includes:
1. A\C conducts and evaporator cleaning.
2. Tire balancing.
So the service B with the Total Plus plan cost only $854.90. Sound off fellow forum members. Let me know your thoughts.

17. Replace Cabin Air Filter. - Dealers in GA, charge extra for the filters around $60-70. They say the labor is included in the price of the B service, BUT the labor is about 5 minutes to remove the filter. RIPOFF as filters cost about $25-$30 USD.
9. Inspect tire wear
10. Inspect tire pressure
18. Tire rotation.
These are checked for free by the place I bought my tires, oh and lifetime balancing. Another rip.
6. Inspect hazard and turning lights.
7. Inspect dashboard warning lights
8. Inspect seat belts
These three are suspect....especially 8.
You already mentioned the wipers...about $30ish...about 5 minutes to change.

Can you help explaining all those services that the dealership supposedly do from the list I enclosed previously? Anticipated thanks.

doesnt it depend on which service b? there is one that requires a transmission fluid flush which is not included in other service b's, so that one would be higher.

If you are mechanically inclined to working on your car then no it's not worth it, but if you are scared to touch it with tools take it to the dealer or a INDY could handle it. In reality having the car serviced by the dealer really only helps if your are keeping the car for LOOOOOONG or going to sell it privately. The way our car's are designed is to be time efficient to work on. Buy a WIS CD off of eBay Motors, that'll give you the PSD's to the what the techs. at the dealership use.

I am waiting for my car at Mercedes in Hagerstown MD.
My temporary conclusion is you should not be here to get a deal unless you live around Hagerstown. I'm living 60 miles away.
My price is $320. But it does not include wiper replacement and brake fluid flush.
MB at Hagerstown website is showing "flexible Service B" includes "replacement of wiper blade". But the service advisor said it applies to old model, not w204.
I called around prior to coming here. The most expensive one was Euromotorcars at Bethesda-$650. After 15% coupon it reduces to $553. But it includes everything such as brake fluid flush and wiper replacement.
According to a service advisor at euromotorcars Bethesda, brake fluid flush costs $130. And wiper blade costs $48. I guess the total cost after 15% coupon would be $400.
In conclusion, if you choose Hagerstown you can save around $80. I should not have come here. $80, after time and gas cost, is not that worth.
My ride is one year old and no problem in wiperblade so that both are not really required now.
If your ride is more than 2 years old and has problem in wiperblade MB at Hagerstown would not very great deal.
Other dealers (e.g., HBL, Euromotorcars at Germantown, Herb Gordon in Silver Spring, MB at Alexandria) are quoting $500 to $550. But all of those dealers do not include Brake fluid flush and wiper replacement.
The number does not unfortunately reflect everything. The wise way to figure out each price would be to ask if it includes brake fluid flush and wiperblade replacement. Other things such as oil change and cabin filter change are common.
So $80 is worth for you? Go get it. But I'm regreting :-(

got mine for just over 200 or just over 300 can't remember...it's a bullpoo service. Cabin filter, oil/filter, wiper blades, and a brake check (no flush or change).
I wouldn't pay more than 300 if you just want to build a working relationship with your SA.

Full service B including brake fluid flush and I got my car a premium detail wash (wash/wax/vac/claybar ect..) all for $350. No coupon but they matched another dealerships service B price and I talked them into the Premium Wash for $50.

Wow - glad I do all my own work. Here are my costs and time for what I've done.
Oil and filter change - 25 min and $80 cost (Royal Purple and Mann filter) every 5,000 - 7,000 miles.
Brake fluid change - $11 for 32 oz DOT 4. The change is dependent on either mileage (more miles, more usage) or time (brake fluid absorbs moisture and becomes less effective over time) - I recommend every 18 - 25 months, depending on where you live. Actually, its more like how aggressive you are using your brakes (heat = fluid breakdown = less effectiveness). My rear rotors and pads are toast at 30,000 miles with "normal" usage. WTF? Anyway, it takes 20 min with 2 people (one pumping the peddle while the other - me - bleeds the lines.
Rear rotors and pads - $150 and 45 min. This was very easy and I ordered the parts on-line
Cabin filter change - $25 and 10 min. Actually, this was needed and helped even after only 25,000 miles.
I log and keep all receipts in case I sell the car. It helps.

I too could not believe the outrageous prices of MB service...until I found this courtesy of my local MBCA and my favorite KC area dealership. Scroll down to page 11 of this newsletter. Check out the prices for a synthetic oil change which includes 27 point inspection! Then check out price for brake flush, about half price of what most dealers charge. The trick is ask for these specials...if you don't they charge you $150 for the oil change...

Hi all,
We just bought a 2012 C250 with approx. 20K miles on it. Car is loaded with options and we got a very good deal. Had it shipped from Texas to Hawaii. As soon as it got here, a message appeared that Service B was required. I called the dealer (not a MBZ dealership) where I bought the car and the salesman assured me that they changed the oil as soon as they got the car in for sale. He said I would reset it from the instrument panel.
I've searched through the manual and about all it says is that resetting must be done by an authorized dealer. No instructions on how to do it. Can anyone offer suggestions for my year and model?
Thanks in advance.

I think this is a risky way to start your ownership. What evidence do you have that he is telling the truth? Did the filter go with it? Did they use the correct new oil? Did they do all the other steps involved in Service B? How would they know what they are if not an MB dealer? If you plan on keeping this car for a while, I suggest taking it to your new local MB dealer and getting a good start with knowing all systems are in proper condition.

No, but that is not service B. The oil change is most of actual "work" the rest is mostly looking over things, anything else that needs replacement is extra.
