Yeah! me too. But that's what Benz have done. I have no idea how well they work. Ask a facelift owner or E class owner.

Do they work that well as fogs?

Seems to me that they don't do much more than turning lights that people point out that one is burned out.

GM basically already lost that battle when they went bankrupt and came out being owned by the government, didnt they?

I'm just saying..these new cars are starting production as we speak. I believe the first of the new 9-5s just recently rolled off the assembly line. They aren't quite for sale yet, but they spent years developing new models and they've spent even more retooling their factories to build these new models. Wouldn't it be wise of GM to at least see how well these models do before killing the brand at this point? They've already wasted the money.

Did Benz say this before or after they sold Chrysler? lol

Yeah! Benz is on slightly soft sand with it's criticism although it's more a truck company & Freightliner was probably a worthwhile acquisition. Honda was the most vocal in saying it would remain on it's own.

No one went around buying up brands like GM & Ford did though. Jag, Aston, Volvo, Landrover, Daewoo, Saab, shares in Fiat etc. etc. BMW owned Landrover for a short while & then went back to their knitting.

I know..they were ridiculous.

I love Fords plan in particular. They bought Jaguar, Aston, Land Rover, and Volvo..pumped loads of money into R&D which translates into a lot of appealing new models, then they dump them at their peaks..makes sense..

At least GM was smart..they bought Saab and bled them of R&D, and when they did come out with new models they just rebadged their existing cars..cost them a lot less that way.

..sarcasm, of course.
