Misplaced Key

Yes it does cost around 400 for 1 key. But what they will do is deactivate your old key order a new one and program it. So in total it'll be around 350-400.
Originally one of the dealers wanted 275 for just the key and another 200 for programming

I guess there are a few benefits to living in the midwest, overall cheaper prices although this guy still thinks that $200 is ridiculous for a new key.
What my dealer service manager told me that was a limit on the number of replacement keys per car because of the software. I think it was five but don't quote me. After five keys are replaced, warranty or not, there is some big operation required to activate another one which may have been the replacement of the in-car receiver unit.
I hope this isn't my old W203 I'm thinking about which had so much warranty repair that it's all a fog.
My dealer gets the keys overnight from Los Angeles.
