Speaker Baffles or mounting rings?
Hey guys, I recently obtained a new component set and was hoping you could shed some light in on the install.
I've read over the H/K front speaker install thread but have a question regarding the baffles.
On the stock speakers/baffle can you remove the speaker from the baffle and re-use it for installing another speaker?
If not, where can I obtain these baffles or something that would work?
I looked into mounting rings but these would not move the speaker away from the door to keep it away from water running down the doors? And then I assume I'd have to seal up the door with deadener to keep a good amount of lower and mid bass response.
I've also looked into mounting baffles that go into the door instead of out from the door, but I assume fitment would become an issue?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Ron

Ron, what you're looking for is something like this http://www.crutchfield.com/g_762/Foa...es.html?tp=660
But you'll want to use something a bit more rigid to screw the speaker into. I suggest that you use the foam baffle between an mdf baffle. This way you get the protection against the water in the door, the speaker is securely mounted, and the foam between the mdf and the door forms a proper seal.

This may offer an option as well.
