NEED INSTALLATION HELP!!!
I tried installing the HID's and ran into a few problems (DDM kit). I tried researching but apparently nobody had brought up these questions, or they haven't been answered yet. Please help me.
1) when i put the clip back on for the lowbeam, it doesn't connect properly because the back of the bulb is thicker because of the wiring connected to the bulb. what should i do to be able to secure the bulb properly through the HID bulb for the low beams?
2) what is the best way to install the fog lights. on the DIY I see the person got metal wiring and duck tape, but i don't understand how he did that to make sure it is secure. what should i do?
3) Is it bad if i don't leave a cap for my low beams because of the wiring that is coming out from the bulb? What are the dangers for not having the cap there?

Can't comment on the actual installation but I've been reading upon it since I'm thinking of HIDs as well...and from what I've read you definitely have to put the cap back on the opening for the low beams or else you'll get a lot of water and condensation in there. Some people have drilled 1" holes through the middle of the cap, run the wires through the opening, and then used a rubber sealant to make sure nothing gets in the opening. Others have just cut out a little notch into the side of the cap and just ran the wires through that (don't remember who but just do a search and you'll find it.

1.) I'm not sure I understand what you're saying. This is what I did. Take the clip totally out and put the HID bulb in. Then while holding the HID bulb in place, put the clip back on. Turn the bulb until it fits securely and then clip it.
2.) Not sure about the "best" way because I haven't done it yet, but the DIY uses a homemade bulb holder. You could just do like you did with the low beams and cut a hole into the bulb holder. But I'm not totally sure. Never seen a DIY, or detailed instructions even, for HIDs in the fogs.
3.) Dust will definitely get in there. I don't think you want that.

the problem is the HID bulb is thick because of the wiring that comes out of it, and the clip is not able to be connected properly because it has to go over the thick part of the HID bulb. its hard to explain. for right now only 1 of the 2 clips are fastened on each side of the clip and the other 2 are just in the air, and when i try to connect them in it just keep popping out or won't connect. if i can't get it fixed today i'll post some pictures to show u guys.

Well, maybe the bulb isn't in right? The bulb is only secure in one position. Turn it until it falls into place, and then maybe you have room to clip both sides of the clip down.

somebody needs to do a DIY on lowbeam HID installation. it would be really helpful. and the fog DIY is confusing because the guy sealed the light into the housing using duct tape and metal wiring, which is confusing and many ppl don't know how to do. the instructions on the DDM tuning site are fairly decent, but there's still certain things for the W204 that are slightly different than that on the DDM site.

on the instructions on DDM is decent even tho the connector are different but still easy to understand. what you have to do is cut the connector, drill a hole then install it very simple and easy

well tonight i was finally successful! my friend and i ended up doing the fogs the same way that guy did on the DIY; we put the bulb in with the spacer and used gauge wiring and duct tape to hold the bulb in place for both sides. we had to take out the housing and do it. BUT for the driver side, we couldn't take out the housing because there's the washer fluid between the fender and the fog light so IT WAS VERY HARD TO DO!!!! we managed to just take off the front fender and just barely manage to wrap the gauge wire around the bulb and the outside of the housing using tweezers. This stuff took a while and I had my doubts, but it all worked out.
The only problems I have now are even though the lowbeams are installed properly, the output of light is wrong because i see my bulbs projecting all the light to the sides instead of straight ahead of me and I don't know how to adjust the lowbeam bulbs the right way. and the clip is secure for the lowbeam bulbs, but not all the clips are in. any suggestions, comments, or questions?
