Hella Xenon bulbs and Polargs installed...but I have a dark spot! *pics*

So I installed Polargs in my eyelids, bumper lights and license plate lights. When just the eyelids n bumper lights are on they look really good...but when all lights are on you can see how much bluer they are than the headlights/fog lights. From pics that other people posted I don't recall the Polargs looking this blue Will they become less blue with use?

I also put Hella Xenon bulbs in the headlights and foglights. When I turned on the foglights a few hours after installing the right one went on and the left flickered and then died out. Went back a few hours later and both worked fine. The headlights both went on and stayed on but I have a big dark spot on the drivers side! Is that a defect with the bulb or do I have to adjust something?

Edit: Now that I look at the pics, the Polargs don't look AS blue in person as they look in the pics...but they are still clearly more blue than the headlights and fog lights

This doesn't look right at all. Try check whether you have placed your bulbs correctly. Also try check whether there are any scratches on the bulb itself.

This may be a dumb question...but isn't there only one way to put them in? lol I mean they are in there secure...like nothings loose or anything

Could this be because of the headlight's reflective low beam design, where the bi-xenons have projectors, the stock ones dont?

Yea there is only one way but sometimes the bulb might not be aiming properly. Try installing them again to see whether it helps. Also see whether the fogs are having the same problem.

Oh ok i see what you're saying. I'll take 'em out and try reinstalling them tomorrow. There don't seem to be any dark spots with the fog lights

What about the Polargs...will they become less blue over time or is that how they look on other people's cars as well?

Yea if that is the case, I think its most probably because the bulbs aren't installed properly. Hopefully you'll get your problems sort out soon. Good luck

NJ, I have to say that your polarg does looks awfully blue, It could be just the camera, but when I insalled mines on my eyelids, I still believes it is the closes color to match with stock xenons. I dont believe they will get lighter as times goes by but who knows. I remember posting a pic somewhere here with my eyelids and license plate. The dark spot is odd as that usually only happens with people conver to xenons, not a light bulb swap.

Looks good Royce

My polargs are not that blue either, they look just like Royce's. After seeing this pic though I think I might be in the market for some Diamond Visions

Don't worry too much about it. I'm sure you'll be able to sort them out sooner or later. For the Polargs try checking with the store whether there are other colours. If I have not mistaken I remember them having 2 different colours but I maybe wrong.

Problem solved...I took the bulb out, spun it around and put it back in...no more dark spot lol. Since it's light out right now I held a black sheet up in front and I'm now getting a steady beam of light from both sides.

Gonna wait and see how it looks tonight...hopefully the Polargs won't be as blue also...but at least I know the bulbs are lined up properly.

Thanks for the help guys

Well easy in the sense that I didn't have to squeeze and cram my hand into tight spots to get to the eyelid and headlight (driver's side) bulbs. Honestly though taking out the liner is really easy. It's 3 torx screws and then 10 of those plastic clips. Once that's out you can reach up and just twist and remove the bulbs. Removing the liner, changing the bulbs and replacing the liner took less than 10 minutes

Update on the headlights and foglights...

So today both fog lights start flickering and then 5 mins later they both just go out. I took them out again and realized that the bulbs are 100W...so I'm guessing that's why the fogs kept flickering and then dying out...wattage too high? So I went back to the auto parts store and just picked up the Philips Crystal Vision Ultra (12V 55W 4000K)...I would've rather gotten the original Crystal Vision (4300K) or the Diamond Vision (5000K) but no store around here has them and I haven't been able to find either online (in the US). Got home, popped 'em in and everything works fine...no flickering and no dark spots. They are whiter than the Hellas with a little blue to them...which is fine b/c they should go better with the Polargs. Not sure of the amount of actual light output yet but I'll take some pics in a few hrs when it's dark out.
