Window tint dilemma, yeah I know broken record but.....
I know there are many threads on this topic but I can't seem to find one that is suited for my needs. I have a Artic white C350 with light gray interior and pana roof. I live in MD and the legal limit on tint is 35%, I have always had 35% on all my cars but I have also always had black interior. I am afraid that the 35% will not look very dark condsidering I have light gray interior and pana roof. I am debating on going 20%, if I drive with my pana screens open i am hoping that it will look like 35% since it will let more light into the car, is this an incorrect thought process? I don't need the super dark look, I just want to make sure I go dark enough to make a difference and look good. Does anyone have pics on an artic white with light gray interior? All the pics I find have black interior. If it matters I am leaning towards Madico Ceramic tint. Thanks

If the legal limit is 35%, then I don't understand the question you have, you can't go darker, so put on the 35%, and enjoy....
The interior color will not make that much of a diff, it's still a darker color....than say tan....

You are right in your assumption that with pano open, your tint will not appear as dark and 20% can probably pass as 35%. Simple concept of ambient internal lighting through tint that you can see when you take your sunglasses passing through dark objects vs light objects and in dark area vs outside sunlight.

Tint is, if I am not mistaken 25%, I tried the 35% on the front doors and 25% on the rear doors and back window but I did not like the look, so I went 25% all the way around, a little too dark at night, but great during the day....
there are more pics of my car here, of which you can see the tint a bit better, and in a lager pic format...

As for my comment that interior color will not make a difference, I meant it will not make a big difference, between the black and gray (I assume the gray is dark, and not a light gray) if it was a tan interior, than yes it will make a difference as will any lighter colored interior, as would number of windows, size, pano roof, or just a sun roof....

Man that arctic looks super nice..especially tinted.
I'm waiting for the tint guy to call me back for an install this Saturday. Bought my wife an 08 c350 this last saturday (black on black), and was thinking about going with 25%...decided on 20% instead. I'm not too concerned about "legal limits" on tint. My Z has 5% on the side glass and 15% in the rear....Mobbed out is an understatement...and I've never been pulled over for tint. It's like driving in a box made of mirrors at night...BUT it looks damn good. I'll see if I can get some pics of the car post-tinting.
REALLY great looking 350 Gatekeeper.

When the weather clears up around here I will post some pics but I am very happy with the 20%, the interior made a huge difference being lighter. If I am every worried about cops at night I just open the pana roof and turn the Command screen on daylight mode so its brighter and I am good. BTW I thought I was getting ceramic but its actually dyed, made by Madico.

Welcome to the forums prettyboy. (Haha that sounds funny). Anywhoo, yeah I bet you're really enjoying your ride. I regret not opting for the panoramic sunroof, as well as waiting/looking around more for a white C350. I like Iridium Silver, don't get me wrong, but Arctic White+Black pano roof is absolutely drop dead gorgeous.
However the downside for me about having a panoramic sunroof is that when you want to open the sunroof to let some air in, the entire thing slides up and out, making a double layered look on top of the car which I kinda don't like. But still. Looks pretty darn good when closed. Anywhoo. Hope you enjoy your car and these forums. Any mods planned or are you going to keep her stock?

actually. here's a little backgound on my car purchase history:
honda civic 04 - hated the lack of horsepower
honda accord 05 - loved it. one of the best cars ive owned. wish i had gotten v6 with alloy.
lexus IS250 08 - loved it. had second thoughts on color of choice. wish i had gotten IS350 with NAV & BT bc of the line of work that i do. loved the audio system and it wasnt the mark levinson upgrade.
now i got a 10' MB C350 - its got P1/MM/PANO/18' AMG/IPOD. its white ext. tan interior. nice change. i dislike the audio system and i dont want to take the car apart to upgrade it and add a sub. i did get my windows tinted today. 20% all around. somehow it looks light still.
as for mods.... the car is great minus the audio. ive been doing some research and it looks like it comes standard with "audio 20"???

they did. apparently, its a hard combination to find. white ext>tan/blk int>MM>pano>p2>hk on a C350.
has anyone replaced the front stock speakers with better ones (more bass)? if so, which model/brand

And as far as tint goes I've got 18 percent all around and then the windshield is also tinted, however, i'm not sure what percentage.. i think its like 65% or something? Anyway, it looks amazing and gives a lot of privacy and I havent been hassled by police yet, even though the legal limit is 35 around here. It does make me nervous though at night.. i find myself flicking open the pano shades and rolling my window down anytime i'm about to go by a cop during the day and turning on a dome light at night..
I would hate to have to get it taken off..
