Anyone else have tiny rust spots on door? Best way to remove?
I was shocked to find a few tiny surface rust marks while washing my silver baby today... We've had a harsh winter in KS this year and I have not been able to take it to the carwash as much as usual due to frequent snow and freezing temps. Thus it has had salt and gunk on it much longer than usual...two weeks in between washes.
I was able to get rid of the rust spots with Tarminator for the most part but some spots were rather difficult. Does anyone have a better way to remove surface rust spots that is safe for our MBs? Please let me know!

Sorry, but this could not be surface rust. That would mean that something ate through ceramic clear coat, color coat and a multitude of anti-corrosion layers! I don't think so, not ins so short of time.
It is more likely a deposit on the paint (clear coat, actually) that is just tough to get off. Try a clay bar.
BTW, did you know that the fenders, hood and trunk are aluminum on the W204? Guess what, aluminum does not rust.

To check that a part is not ferrous, place a magnet on it and it should not be attracted.
Aluminum oxidizes, like other metals, forming a sacrificial coat. But this is gray, not brown, and hardly noticeably. I think your stain is of vegetable or mineral origin. Nothing is better than a clay bar for the amateur, since it is quite safe to use.
If the stain does not come out with a clay bar, a polishing compound applied with a dual orbital polisher is the ticket. Menzerna polishing compounds are excellent for MB cars.
