Yes.....I understand that....I'm just saying that you can pretend you don't know about your little mishap and blame it on the act of a sick and cruel friend. Not that I advocate dishonesty but yeah. Sounds like quite the shticky situation. Hope it gets resolved.

If you tell them what happened, they can probably easily and quickly fix it for you, maybe for free.
Why would you want them looking for shorts, failures, etc that don't exist.
At best you will be wasting their time, at worst, they might screw something else up, or replace something that is not broken and still not solve the problem. Do you really want them rooting around inside your dash, etc. Warranty or not, that is a waste of their time.
You broke it and you may have to pay a small amount to have it fixed. If you can afford a Benz, you can probably afford to have the computer reset correctly.

I was messing around the other day and turned an Internal Amp setting to "off" which shut off all sound. I had to change the setting to "on" and then turn the car off completely, everything worked fine when I started it again.

I would add more detail but it looks like you got it fixed, that sucks they charged you $250 for what basically amounts to turning a switch to "on".

You know what's funny? Those "idiots" are probably thinking the same thing of you for hitting the reset button.
