New w204 C250 owner frm the far east
Engine is a 1.8 turbo 4-cylinder with 204hp. I was really looking to get a C350 last yr but when the new C250 came out this yr, I just hv to buy this. I knw it's not as powerful as the V6 C300 or 350, but i think the turbo has alot of potential, not to mention it's 2/3 the price and it saves on gas.
My question is, do you think it will be a popular choice if they offer this model in the states?
turbo 4s can make it in the US, but it's not an easy road. 6s are generally perceived as minimum for luxury brands. They brought the 4 banger 203 stateside, so wouldn't be surprised to see 4 banger 204s.
I know you must be enjoying that car. People would buy that car here, yes. We'll see more economic choices in the future as people here started to care a bit more finally about consumption of oil, not everyone, but some.
I drove 4 cylinder diesels in C class and E Class last summer in Europe, and they drive beautifully. Honestly, I did not for one second wish I had a V6 or gasoline. They performed and drove like all Mercedes I have ever driven.
The engines they offer in America are really just to compete with the competitors who offer similar engines.
The true enjoyment of the car comes that they are all W204 chassis, drive great, comfortable, and I should mention again drives not great, but beautifully. Enjoy it. It's a great car!

FYI my mechanic told me our cars have the same turbo as Audi A4! (kkk k03), so yes this engine has a lot of potential

It gives very smooth ride in comfort mode and firms up nicely when needed ( press the sport button
), i bet the electronic suspension gives a smoother ride than the non electronic one.woo, which colour is your car? mine one is palldaium silver with optional sunroof.
here is my car with C63 19inch alloys

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
I have a '09 c230 in India, which is a 2.5L V6, and for '10 MB had renamed it c250, not a CGI version.
wondering how they come up model names, reminds me of the older 190's which had different engines and were still called 190.

Mine's white w/o sunroof. Love ur wheels btw. I agree that C350 is not worth the price in HK, but with our price tag of our C250, we couldve gotten a C63 in the state?
but since no stock available with sunroof ( need to order) so i choose pallidum silver in the end.

for C250 money in hk yes we could get a C63 in the states.
I would buy it in a heartbeat if it cost the same here

It seems quite strange that it would come with the AMG sports and dynamic handling package when the C200 CGI and those two options combined would add up to be the same price. I recently placed an order on a C200 CGI on Wednesday and now I want to see if I can change it to a C250 if it does indeed come with those options and is the same price anyway.
Any advice would be appreciated, thanks a lot.
BTW: Sup Eric?

it is very strange as the 2010 price list contains 3 models for c250cgi, which are elegance , AV, and sports edition, all of them are selling at 473k.
The AV spec does not include amg package , but sunroof is standard, which makes sport edition the best buy as amg package with dymanic sport button is an 22.5k+ tax options whereas sunroof is $12.5k + tax options for sport edition. you can do the math by yourself.
therefore i suspect the sport editions is the leftover stock for dec2009/jan2010 allocations. you may not be able to order it anymore.
