New Grill...Black Sport Grill w/ Floating Star...

So I decided to go with the Sport grill painted in black. Got it on and I liked it better than the C63 grill I used to have but I wanted to change it up a bit. At 1st I was going to wrap the bottom chrome strip in black vinyl...kinda like the CL63 grill but the other 2 strips aren't center and it didn't look right. So I decided to black out all the chrome strips with black vinyl...but after removing one chrome strip I realized they were just held on by double sided tape...so when I pulled them all off, the edges were black and smooth (no holes).

Just some quick pics from my crackberry...I'll take better pics after I give her a bath...

All comments and opinions welcome of course!

Thanks...I like the contrast b/t the white and black as well...I also like how the all-black grill makes the Mercedes star stand out even more. I had thought about blacking out the entire grill including the star, but I wasn't feeling it.

Let me make sure I am following you correctly. Are all the chrome strips, including the lower strip, held on with double sided tape? Does the black finish under the strips and tape match your black paint? Is it matt or gloss?

Yes...all the chrome strips are held on with double sided tape...similar to that used to hold on the trunk lid badges and lower door trim. Yes the black under the chrome matches the rest of the grill.

Looking really nice. I like the fact that you didn't black out the Mercedes emblem... It really makes it pop this way. All I would do now if I were you is throw some Lamin-X on the fogs and/or headlights in the tint color. Not only for the look, but to protect those bad boys... Had my fog crack twice! Not too cool when its upwards of $300 to fix it when it costs only $20 to protect them...

Looks nice.......

I also had the C63 look grille, but afer the hard winter the chrome came off.
So my C63 look grille is now painted all matt black... also the star is painted matt black.... Now i have to fit it on the car and look if it looks right....
