Trunk Leak!!
Trunk Leak!!
So I was at the Mothership this morning getting some minor things replaced/fixed and looked into. When the rep finished printing up my paperwork he told me they might hold onto the car longer than expected due to a "Campaign towards a Trunk leak" So am assuming MB found some issues in regards to the seal in the trunk and are looking into it, hopefully its not a big issue. Just wanted to inform the group to be on the look out for trunk leaks to take it right to MB to get it fixed.
About a month ago when I brought my car back they also told me about an active campaign to fix the alignment of the trunk, they never mentioned anything about a leak though. Maybe this could be the same thing? All I know is my trunk would screech before, and after it was smooth as butter, lol.

I had a boot leak caused by water running along my MB fitted towbar under the rear bumper & into the hollow sub frame & into the lower boot. It was fixed by a little crude cover over the sub frame entry!

I've got an 08 and several months ago while the car was in for service they did some kind of trunk lid alignment. Didn't know that it needed it as I wasn't aware of any leaks.
Likewise. They said the problem was that the trunks wouldn't close properly or would be seated kinda oddly when the close sometimes. Also they did it to get rid of that bounce that happens sometimes with the trunk when you don't use enough force.

Did you have any problems with your towbar? Look at my thread and see the botched job they did. Sooo disappointed with Mercedes.

The 220 CDI tow bar is a different design & is made by Trimotive Melbourne.
The flat removeable tongue seemed very loose in the holding frame . They sent another one which was tighter but stil rattled. I welded & then filed a small pad on the side which gave it a closer tolerance . No problems now !!

Lids
Funny you should mention that. I had a service loaner 2010 C300 Sport for three days last week and I noticed that the trunk lid bounced when I slammed it shut. My 2008 just goes "click."
