Faked Reviews on Edmunds

I was reading the latest Edmunds reviews on the C Class and was surprised the average review rating was so low. I noticed three posts in particular that were almost certainly written by the same person and were in the 6.5 range. Looks like one guy with an issue with MB, logged in as several different people just to drag the ratings down. Anyhow, check on the link: pay particular attention to the second, third and fourth posts....same guy. I reported them as being from the same person and likely fakes but edmunds needs more complaints to do anything. I think a few more of them are fake as well but these three really stand out.
Anyhow, I wanted to see what you guys thought and if you agree with me, let Edmunds know...crap like these will kill our resale value!

Well what I noticed on websites such as Autoblog and Edmunds, is that there a quite a lot of domestics/bmw/audi fanboys who have a huge problem with MB and Daimler in general.

It got to the point where I was wondering if these were disgruntled Chrysler workers or just some ignorant slobs who were posting all this bias anti-Mercedes/Daimler all the time. Honestly, I as well as anybody know that the brand isn't perfect, but they just write completely unfounded and bias crap which isn't even credible, so I learned to completely write them off as ignorant lost-causes.

Edmunds/Insideline is no different than that as basically anybody can come on and bash what they want. Their commenting system isn't very good at all either so I doubt anybody really checks, uses em most of the time except for Long Term Car Blogs.

2010 Mercedes-Benz C-Class C300 Sport 4dr Sedan (3.0L 6cyl 6M)

Review

The correct car description is C220 CDI (sold in Europe). This car as many of the Diesel-based versions may be seen ...parked (I almost wrote cruising on motorways, but this is not the case) at franchised dealers locations throughout EUROPE are awaiting the replacement of their Delphi injectors. MB is using the ostrich strategy and is keeping fingers crossed that not all the Diesel c-class will end in limp mode.

Diesel vs. Gas.

You be the judge in the believability of this

It's true that MB is having huge trouble with automobile diesel injectors at the moment and redesigned replacements are in short supply. This is not exactly a secret.

The fact that two of the reviews are both under the first name Paul helps too. :P

What prompted me to read them was a friend of mine is shopping for a new car. She really isnt a car person but is looking for an Audi, BMW or Mercedes...likely buying the brand not the car. Anyhow, she mentioned she was surprised by the low rating of the C on Edmunds so that's why I checked it out. I don't think people take these as the gospel but I'm sure bogus reviews like that could sway some 50/50 buyers.

That may be true. But a C220CDI, which isn't sold over here in the US, comment in a place for gas engines verifies C300s commentary.

One easy way to fix this... When you do a rating you must provide a vin number... Sound good? lol. But OP is right, this will not only hurt our resale value, but deter many potential buyers and miss out on such a great car!

Thanks God I had no injector problem yet.
I've done about 20000 km since late October 2008 when I took delivery and I cannot say there is any problem with my car except for the mirrors squeaking from time to time when folding or unfolding.
C220 CDI is a great car even if I'm still a big fan of Audi.
