Boston Rapid Transit!

Just back from weekend at Boston Marathon. Yes, lots of people running, but I was struck by how many C Classes are running around also! They are everywhere, including a very nice Palladium C63 on Newbury Street!
We just don't see that many in Michigan, unless we visit a dealer. But, the Beantowners sure do shoe-horn them into the street parking...lots of bumper touch-ups for sure!

I work at a Mercedes dealer in Boston and there are definitely lots of needed touchups on the bumpers lol... my dealer also just happens to be an AMG specialty center so we get all the fun toys

I was just in that area last weekend checking out my Daughters college (In the fall). We were in a small town called Beverly right across from Salem. Nice area with some real old houses. I only saw C's on the major roads though.

I live on the north side of Boston. I try to NEVER park my car on the street in the city. Hope you enjoyed your stay. Boston is a great city!

Stone, Where do you work? Chambers?

Cheers,

Joe

I'm in Wakefield. I either take my car to Chambers in Boston and have the shuttle drop my off at work or I use Flagship. My B service is due soon, perhaps I will come see you.

I live in Beverly...yes, there are a lot of Benzs around. Manchester By the Sea is actually the next town over (opposite side from Salem) and it's income and home values are some of the highest in the country. Last year I think a report came out where the average cost is over 1.5M...so you can imagine some of the cars around.

STONE...thank your lucky stars you don't work at Flagship in Lynn. Worst dealership on the planet for any brand...no exceptions

I was moral support for the woman I most admire....my amazing wife who did a few minutes over 4 hours at the age of 54! We enjoyed the town, good restaurants, but relied on the T instead of renting a car, which would have been useless. But, the T was almost impossible due to being overwhelmed by the crowds! This was the 7th Green Line at Arlington I could not get on!! I eventually made it out to Woodland and then back to Cleveland Circle for two cheering opportunities.

She has run well enough to qualify for next year...so we may be back!

But, if I ever want to go somewhere 26.2 miles away, I don't run...I go by C Class!

So I take it that you had a bad experience with Flagship?

You may have seen my car around, since I park my car at BU on Commonwealth Ave near Kenmore : )

Congratulations to your wife Sportstick, that is quite an achievement!

Thanks Steve! I'll be in sometime toward the end of May - early June. I purchased my '03 C230 from Ian at Chambers and my C300 at Flagship. I love coming to the Boston store because there are always awesome cars in the showroom to admire.

We should put together a gathering in the Boston area somtime this summer. That would be awesome! I might try to get to Cars and Coffee next month.

Cheers,

Joe

I travel on the Orange Line everyday. The T can really get on your nerves at rush hour!

Congrats to your wife! That is incredible! I have a friend that lives on Comm Ave. We had BBQ and Beer while we watched the runners go by. That’s how I like to participate!

Cheers,

Joe

Thanks, guys, for all the good wishes, which I passed along to Mrs. Sportstick (although she captains the fully automatic E350!). Even since yesterday, she is talking more about "next year" and aiming for under 4 hours . I told her there's a Senior Citizen discount, so they should take 10% off her time!!

Wow, small world. I'm a designer and I run a studio less than a mile from Montserrat. I just, last week hired 2 girls graduating from there, one web, one graphic. She should really like it.

Well it really is a small world. She loved the school when we visited and I liked the town very old school. Only problem I can see will be parking her car, there doesn't seem to be enough. I'll drop you a line when we come up in August, we can compare rides.

Parking is tight, but I can help show you some of the lesser known areas where she won't have a problem leaving it and it'll be safe.

And I'm always looking for interns if you want to put her to work early!
