Test for the noise with the engine off. I had a squeak with my 2008 C300 that came from the gas pedal. I lightly sprayed silicone lubricant and it went away.

This was a great tutorial and it was very helpful in getting the pedal apart. I am adding a comment b/c I attempted this fix on my 2013 MY and despite all my efforts at lubricating everything with copious amounts of silicone spray and silicone grease, I still had the squeek. I can locate the specific spot of the squeek to where the spring contacts the white plastic. I surmise that at 10 years old, the part wears to the point that re-lube won't fix it. I ordered a new pedal from FCP EURO for $170.
