Just chiming in again - had my 2019 G63 since March with the following problems:

1. Cracked windshield I didnt even hear hit.
2. Replacement glass delivered to dealer was shattered.
3. Chip 3 weeks ago. (Quarter size)
4. Another chip yesterday. (Quarter size)

Past cars: 0 cracks and 0 chips

Safelite fixed the chips today for about $175 -- Looks great... For the moment.

I am thinking I may have to trade the car over this if it keeps happening -- It is just too much of a pain.

Not my experience. 21 years, 6 MBs, 750,000 miles, 2 broken windshields. Houston area.

 

What is "crapy" about the windshield on your '22 GLE350, and why would posting in the W204 C-class forum help you get any answers?

 

Maybe he meant crappy. If it was crapy, by definition it would be bushy, like a crape myrtle. Maybe even red tinted.

 

Get that ****er fixed ASAP by a repair specialist before it spreads. Cost me just $80.

 

Very timely response to a post from 15 years ago! By now the tiny nick in Javvy's windshield has spread into a crack that swallowed Javvy's entire car.

 

This was done at an independent shop who claimed to have the calibration equipment needed. This is even the company who the local Mercedes Dealership calls to come out to install their windshields. But yes, 3rd party.

 

Mary Shelley would be proud.
