Yeah am fine.. but I noticed that the car I hit infront of me it was a 2009 Toyota Rav 4 only the bumper was damaged and my car ended up like a sandwich ..

Looks like the fact his rear end was rising as your front end was diving ended up having you submarine under him a bit. Looks like your bumper support was OK but all the soft and pliable goodies on top of it took the brunt of the hit.
Better to have your car are crumpled than your knees/nose/ribs etc.

It always happens like that. I saw an S550 get rear ended by the previous model C class. The S550 I swear didn't have a scratch and the C class was maybe twice as bad as your car...

It doesn't look like its worth it to repair that. what does your insurance co have to say about it?

I have to agree with the majority... Even if you did pay the deductible and pay to have it repaired, the car will never drive the same given that much fram damage... Sorry, but I think its a total.

If the person in front of you applies brakes and you hit them then you were following too close. That's the law in Virginia anyway.

I was behind a tourist on the toll booth going from San Juan going to Aguadilla and the guy was trying to put a dollar bill into the machine!!! Thank god it was me and I was nice to help him and gave him change and was at night time si no it would have been a mad house…..

Ouch . . Like others have said, it's good to hear that you're in good condition.

I am curious about the hood, why does it look like it shot upwards? Is it from the amount of impact or do our cars come installed with that "GTR" contraption that pops the hood up upon impact.

Glad you suffered no physical harm. The car does not look total to me, it looks like structurally is OK and all damage is superstructure and axle. It is costly to fix but doubt that will reach 80%. Nevertheless, I'd take the insurance check and, if it is not total, sell the remains and get a new unit.

PS: You might have been a tad too close. Yellow is a bad luck color, therefore it never means give gas.

Even if you want to total the car, your insurance company might not allow you to..
It will all depend on the adjuster as he will determine the amount of damage and if there is any structure damage that's beyond repair...

Although it is difficult to tell from one picture, I bet that gets repaired by your insurance company. Structurally looks sound as most of the damage appears to be cosmetic.

Yeah, that's because of safety ratings and such. All car manufacturers make the rear end as stiff as possible, and the front end crumple as much as possible. It's to protect everyone in both cars as much as possible.

By any chance Mike are they parting out your vehicle? There is a c-class online that is being parted out by some 3rd party vendor that I guess purchases totaled vehicles and sells the parts. The body damage looked 100% identical to yours, but the color wasn't black... I was thinking about buying the hella foglight since it was only $80, but then I thought, how on earth could it still be intact with damage like that...
