They slide into the socket easily and are secure enough that I'm not worried about them falling out. I know some of the older LEDs we've tried out in the past have been so tight that it's somewhat difficult to get them in the socket, but that won't be an issue from the samples I got.

As for the heat issue, yeah, I'm sure it's generating a fair amount of heat, but as long as the LED holds up and doesn't show anything other than cosmetic scorching, I'm fine with that.

I don't think he has checked them yet. So far it sounds like they don't change color and are the answer we have been waiting for. But he is going to check on monday to see if they can stand the test of time.

+1 (but bearing in mind that pictures won't really show the true colours)

I'm interested in how the colour compares as the M4s are almost spot on with stock BiXenons, and also brightness - I wish the M4s were brighter than they are now...

I still have stock eyelid bulbs, so I'm really hoping these work out. There is something I just noticed, though. I've only seen reports of scorching in the eyelids. What about LEDs with built-in resistors in the side markers and license plate lights? Do they not end up burnt like the eyelids?

Ok, here's what everyone's been waiting for...

Here are the pics of the LEDs. Basically you have some normal scorching marks which are nothing to be alarmed about. After 50 hours of use...maximum of 3 continuous hours, I think this is pretty good. Big thing was there was no shifting of components which means temps didn't get high enough for the solder to melt causing pieces to fall off.

Color still shows as close to full white as I've seen. It's also brighter than the iJDMToy LEDs which I believe helps overcome the natural bluish tint that's caused by the housing. To show this, take a look at the following pics to compare.

iJDMToy on right, my test LED on left

What you should be paying attention to is how my test LEDs fill out the housing better while the iJDMToy LEDs you can see a noticeable separation between the two LEDs. This is because my test LEDs seem to put out more lumens. My test LEDs are the same overall design as the iJDMToy ones so the delta cannot be attributed to that.

Color is very white and even though my Nikon D90 is no slouch, I don't think the pic accurately depicts just how white these LEDs truly are. I'd go so far as invite any in socal to come view them for themselves as any of the weekly night meets we have to see and report. Nothing to hide and full disclosure.

That being said, I feel confident enough in my initial testing to feel optimistic about these LEDs to petition the admins to start a group buy if you all agree with my findings. Keep in mind, even though I think 50 hours is a pretty good sample size, if this group buy does go through, there is still a risk of being among the first test batch. Prices will be pretty low though (I think probably around $10 for a set of two shipped, give or take a couple bucks) that the risk is worth it imo.

Let me know your reactions.

And just for reference, here are the iJDMToy (supposedly the best on market right now) that I had before that burned out with parts falling off that I had to make a warranty claim on.

Count me in. The outcomes look more promising than the iJDMs so far. These don't fit in the sidemarkers do they? If they do I would grab three pairs for sure, but I'm assuming they don't since the iJDM ones don't either.

Regarding the sidemarkers, I didn't measure the length the sidemarkers could accept as that wasn't the primary goal, but I'll take a look tomorrow. They're the same dimension as the iJDM ones so if you're saying they don't fit, then that might be the case. However, the manufacturer has other designs that might serve the sidemarkers well that I can request and work with them to getting.

I was playing around with another LED design they had sent me, but unfortunately didn't work out, but I think would be great for the sidemarkers. Currently working with their engineers to see what the issue might be to see if we can resolve it.
