it will not melt the harness the LED will just fall right out the board n then you get a "Error Light" to check your front turn signal bulb.

Alright, let's do this.

On a side note, Mike, you're no longer living/working in San Ramon?

AZN, why can't we have more people test out the leds?

some people said that the heat generated from the resistors will not burn the sockets, and i am sure this is not true. Not only the chips on the circuit board will fall around, but the heat generated will definitely melt the plastic socket.

however, this bulb from AZN has 8 leds (i guess they are smds?) which will ease out some load in the resistors, thus less heat will be generated from the resistors, but not that much. try to think about turning more heat into light, and we simply cover those lights might do the job since smds will not produce light with much heat.

3 hours max test to Vegas is not enough... some people do 5 or more hours driving... have you heard of an engineer's rule... a single car jack can actually jack up minimum a whole car? that means 4 times the actual load to make it safe and reliable.

so, should you run it at least 20 hours? just make it 10 hours continuously will be good enough.

Bottom line is this...I'm not making a profit from selling these LEDs. Just like the other past group buys I've hosted, I'm doing it for the betterment of the 204 community as a whole. You're right that 50 hours is a relatively small sample size and 3 hours straight (twice with both ways coming and going) might not meet the QA standards of most, but I think it's really asking too much of me to run the car for 10-20 hours straight. I've already paid $50-60 to procure these test LEDs which is much more than what the rest of the community will be paying with splitting wire transfer and international shipping. Also don't discount the effort it takes to repackage and reship out everyone's individual order. Last time I ran group buys, it took like 3-4 hours of my own free time each GB. Is there a chance these LEDs might not work out? Of course. I put that disclaimer out for the first group of people buying these LEDs. Those people who step up and try out the first batch will be in essence beta testers, accounting for different test vehicles, environments, and driving habits. Those who've been in the trenches with me in the past for first round testing of the other LEDs understood that and were willing to give it a shot. If those of you out there don't want to test these out, no problem. No one's holding a gun to your head. My view, prices are low enough that even if these don't work, it's a very minor setback. I fully expect those of you in the first batch to continuously check your LEDs every few days or every week for the first month just in case anyways.

BTW. Group Buy was just approved, so I'll be composing the GB thread sometime tonight.

Mike, I'm curious if you have tested them side-by-side (like you did in the pics with the other LEDs) with the polarg bulbs that a lot of us are running?
