so what happened to my W204 today..
so today was a beautiful day in NYC, almost what? 80 degrees, sunny.
Spent the day in the city, had to take my brother there to take care some things, on our way back we were heading (ironically) to the Mercedes Benz dealership because my family is in the market to surprise him with a new car, anyway i turn on to the Expressway and start speeding up, im doing about 50 mph, when the car chokes up a bit, and i loose power in the accelerator, my car is slowing down and im just like . i pulled over and and called road side assistance, but appearently they arent allowed to tow my car where it was, which was kind of odd. After a few moments i tried to start the car again but the engine just wouldnt start. Bleh i called a friend he picked me and my brother up, and we towed the cars ourselves to Helms Bros. Tomorrow we shall see what their conclusion to the problem is. What just has me ticked off is the car JUST went in for service last week ! so thats my story.

His mama. Traded y0 mama in because she was squeaking.
Do you have fuel in it?
I only ask because I rolled up on a driver on the side of the road a few years ago, who told me his car just quit running. He swore up and down his engine froze (it was -38 below that day with a blizzard so strong I could barely see my lights - only reason I saw him was because his car was a bright red).
After I froze my peanuts off looking under the hood, (yes, it would turn over, so the engine wasn't "frozen" as he called it), I eliminated spark (he had spark), and checked to see if he had fuel pressure, at the rail. No pressure. I walked back to his driver's window and I was about to tell him he had no fuel pressure when I glanced at his instrument cluster... the fuel gauge was buried past E.
The funny thing is, he was in that cold for a good 2 hours, and he was almost frozen. I gave him 5 gallons of fuel out of my 5 gallon can, and let him warm up in my unit for a little bit.
Guy felt pretty silly once we figured out the problem.
/end of useless story.

see that crossed my mind too, i was low on fuel but no fuel indicator light came on, and the needle just barely passed the quarter tank mark, i dont think it is that but yeah its still a possibility.

Hmmm, I have never thought of that before. Although it seems sill,y it does sound like you ran out of gas... Maybe it is possible you got bad fuel... Did you happen to just get a new tank?

Sounds like you ran out of gas there have been a few people who reported running out with an indicated 1/8 tank. I try to keep mine over 1/2 because of this. Clearview the tow truck has to have a permit maybe the MB driver didn't have the correct one.

My friend has a 2010 S550 that kept running out of gas. It showed a quarter tank but it was empty. After 3 trips to the dealer and a few tows, they decided to give him a brand new S550.
So.. you either ran out of gas.. or it's some stupid sensor, which is what happened to my old CLK430, I was driving and all of a sudden, nothing...

Because I get gas for US prices only at Esso (Exxon) pumps in Germany there's been a few times when travelling that I've had to search for an open Esso (Many gas stations close in the afternoon here) which has left me watching my tank dive past the refill warning.. past the empty needle.. until the estimated fuel reserves changes from like 12 miles to a picture of a gas pump.. despite all this, I've never ran out of gas. I guess what I'm saying is that if your sensors work, then your gas gauge has it down to a science.

I have driven my car when teh indicator was on for like 50 miles, so I guess I must not have a bad indicator. People need to realize that they can't trust it if they are on an upward incline. It will always show more fuel than u really have.

yes, chances you were on a slight incline and you ran out of gas. Happened to my folks 10 years ago with our old C280. However, I have let me car fun down to the yellow light with the gas tank icon, but so far nothing has happened

Yeah, let us know what happens.
I too have gone down to almost the E line where instead of the vehicle showing the range is was ?? and then switched to a picture of my car refueling at a gas station... lol. It wasn't even that close to the Empty line when it did that. But with everyone saying their cars have run out before 1/8, I might be apprehensive to let that happen again. Not that I do, just occasionally if I am on a road trip far. Mainly try to keep it above 1/4, no less than 1/8.

On two occasions now I have run my car far too long when the fuel gauge shows empty and I haven't run out of gas yet ( I have to stop doing that ! )
First time I pumped 17.10 gallons into the 17.43 gallon gas tank !!!
Last time, 16.77 gallons into the 17.43 gallon gas tank...
( I don't recommend trying this at home )

Yea I usually make my way to the gas station when it's around the 1/4 mark but I was just coming home from the city so I didn't get to. Eh hopefully mb fills me up for free and gives me a car wash lol

make sure you don't get a car wash from helms brothers.. I just got a car wash from them after a oil change like 2 days ago, they scratched up my car pretty bad. I told the valet manager, he got white hair and his name is dimetry or something, and he said he would get it fixed with some compound and buff it out.. but to tell you the truth i don't think they will fix it like how it was before.. Helms brothers car wash might take the dirt away but will leave you with white deep scratches. i thought freddy krueger came by their car wash or something...
