18 inch staggered AMG wheels on a 4MATIC - possible?

Friend has a C300 4matic and he wants to upgrade to the staggered AMG 18 inch C350 wheels. Is this safe to do with a 4matic drivetrain? Anyone else with a 4matic run these?

I'm no wheel expert, but my 4matic has staggered 17s as standard equipment. I don't see why stepping up an inch would not work. BUT I do believe you can not get the dynamic handling package that includes the mentioned 18s with the 4matic.

Of course maybe somebody that actually has 18s can chime in.

The 18" AMG staggered wheels are standard on C350 4MATICS up here. I opted for the 17" AMG staggered wheels as I use them for the winter. Won't be an issue...hell my Work wheels are staggered!

In the past Mercedes never equipped their 4matic models with staggered setups, hence the question. S-class 4matics and E 4matics were always the same size all the way around.

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't these AMG wheels now an option for the 4matics ?? I would've opted for them if they had been available when the w204s first came out !! Ask your salesman I'm sure he knows ??

if your question is can you do it.. the answer is yes.

if your question is how safe is it.. need to consult the mechanic and/or white papers.

many ABS systems cannot compensate for more than 3% variation when the tire/wheels are the same size. i do not know if the w204 4matic is a true awd car or not, but generally speaking, true awd cars are equipped with non-staggered setups. there are however, some rearwheel based awd cars.. like bmw and porsche and they will use the staggered setup.

A lot of people have W204 4matics with the staggered 18" AMG wheels. I regularly see them on the dealer lots as well.
