W204 Trunk Strut Retrofit
Is it possible to fit struts on the trunk of the W204? I fine like it looks better.
Here is how the trunk normally opens.

Sure it can be done...but to do it well with no fitment issues it is going to run you thousand upon thousand of dollars. I think it is something Mercedes should have designed into the car to give us a bit more trunk space but it is nothing I would ever, ever think of trying to redo.

I was considering modifying this....one of the unforseen consequences of layering my trunk lid with sound dampening material was the added weight which would cause the trunk to not stay open if I'm parked angled on a hill lol.

It would be very hard and not really feasible to do. I actually much prefer our trunk opening method. I had a g37 and the trunk was a pain to lift, especially if you had stuff in your hand you were carrying (which most people do when going into the trunk.)
Azn, why did you install sound dapening material in the trunklid instead of just behind the rear seats or under the trunk floor?
