Where exactly is the owners manual stored in the car? It doesn't fit in the glovebox.

In the trunk, behind the first-aid kit in the covered compartment, driver's side.

So far I've been storing it in the pocket on the drivers door. Too bad it does not fit in the glove box as it does on most cars.

Did all c300s come with a first aid kit? I just bought mine pre-owned certified and it does not have one. Was wondering about it -- and would like to get one.

Not sure why yours doesn't.....mine does easily. The owner's manual in its packet is on the second shelf. Sunglass case on top. A couple of Garmin mounts, and then on the right, the Garmin, itself, in a case. On lower shelf are papers and the never used ipod connector. Glovebox door latches easily with just a gentle lift into place.

From what I've gathered from other threads, the 2008s and some of the 2009s came with an owners manual in a leather case. I believe it was sometime in 2009 that they switched to a cheaper nylon case. It's the leather one that doesn't fit in the glovebox.

My manual (in the leather case) is in the net in the passenger footwell. That's where my dealer puts it by default and even when I've taken it out and shoved it between the console and passenger seat, the dealer always returns it to the net after they stamp the book for service.

Even the nylon one in my '09 does not have a clean fit. The glove box will close, but there is contact between the lid and the OM case near the part that looks like a built in business card holder on the back of the glove box lid.

Are you sure you have it on the second shelf, as in the photo I posted above? I just rechecked and peeking in as the door closes, there is no contact while I can still see through the closing door, and then the door closes/latches with the force of just my pinkie gently putting it into the latched position, seemingly with no contact.

Mine won't fit in the glovebox - perhaps it depends on how many volumes there are in the handbook binder? Obviously I had too many options, each one having its' own volume

The leather case (full of books) is still sleeping on the top shelf. Well, the shelf, since there is no bottom shelf. I don't see why you are having so much trouble.

I got a 2010 a couple weeks ago for the wife and it had the leather cover for the manual. It fits on the top shelf but you have to really push to close the glove box. I am probably going to move it to the trunk or something since she will never read it. I already went through it and don't really need it as much anymore.

Open up some space for the rest of the stuff she is going to put in there.

If you have the leather case and the command HK system then there is no way it will fit properly in the glove box (the command book is huge). I put mine where the first aid kit should go and the first aid kit is now beside the spare tire with the tool kit.

Mine sits behind the first aid kit, in the same compartment, no need to put it with the spare wheel. Also a CDN model.

Which I do so I guess I'm just imagining that it's in there, then? After a time, the leather softens a bit and there is adequate space for it.

if you look to the left of this post, you will observe my car's equipment, not being equipped like a Iraq taxicab.

Squeeze mine into the 'pocket' in the passenger door. Have personal effects in the driver-side door.
