OT Wnet for a little flight today.

At the airport.

Waco Biplane

Bit hard to get into

Start that engine

Taxing away

Heading out over the ocean.

Taxing back

Shut down

The pilot, my daughter and me.

Unfortunatly my D-70 is acting up so the wife had the D-60 and none of the point & shoots had a charge so no pics from the air. We flew over the beaches and the day was very clear I could see NYC off to the west easily. We cruised at 1100 ft and was going between 80 and 90 MPH. The flight was only 35 minutes so we were pretty local (flew over my house).

Looks like fun. Do they offer these flights at a cost, or do you know the pilot?

His mama. Traded y0 mama in because she was squeaking.
250 dollars for a 35 minute flight? What a rip-off!

Sorry... it is. But as long as you had a good time, that's all that matters. After all, money is meant to be spent.

Don't be so sure of yourself there...those old planes require tons of upkeep...imagine working on that big a$$ radial engine...not cheap.

Besides if you want to fly in a B-17 it will run you about 400-500 and a P-51 about 1800-2500...

Spot on for the B-17 flight at 500.00, The T-6 is 300.00, the C-47 is 400.00 and the P-51 is 1200.00 but that last must be the ride of your life. They also have a B-25 that has just been given flight certification and they will start giving rides in that also. They have a Catalina that they are restoring and it will be flight worthy next summer hopefully, that is one I will have to go on.
