Transmission ECU

Is there a limit of how many times we can reset the transmission ECU?
I reset quite often to remove the sluggishness of the transmission.
Does anyone know

I thought the ECU reset applied to both engine and transmission. Does it not?

Are you having to reset it because you share the car with someone else whose driving style is a lot different than yours??

I'm pretty sure it is your fly by wire module that you are resetting when you do the key on, pedal stomp thing.

I agree. I think it tells the ecu (and tcm for atx's) where WOT and idle positions are for the gas pedal, and then assigns the appropriate voltages to those 2 pedal positions.

That's why my mod to reduce pedal stroke makes our atx so much more to drive :

I'm not sure what it does when i reset by holding the gas pedal in on position. But it does make a difference to the lag when i press the pedal.

yeah, my car is shared with my older sister whose driving is slight different from me.

This is very interesting..

I actually bought a 2008 C300 Sport (19K Miles) CPO and had to bring it in to do get a few things done to it. I received a 2010 C300 Sport Loaner Car (10K Miles) and this thing seemed like it was 2X as fast as my C300. At first I thought it was because I was trying to beat up the loaner and taking it easy on my C300. However, after dropping the loaner off I put my C300 through the same "abuse" and the results varied greatly.

I will be resetting the transmission tomorrow using this key and pedal method. I will report the results ASAP because this has been bothering me soooo much!

Loaners feel faster because people beat it to hell so the cars adjust to the driving styles. You have to beat yours for awhile after you reset so the car can learn accordingly. I may be wrong =x

I tried the ECU reset by stomp pedal method and I think its a mental thing. I didnt really notice any difference, however I was more apt to step on the accelerator harder in order to have the ECU learn a more aggressive driving style... so i was driving faster, but the car behavior was the same as pre "reset"
