Most common would be the Magnaflow crossover x pipe with 2.25" piping. Others have tried ones from Exhaust depot or have had them custom fabricated. The magnaflow has a throatier/more aggressive sound. The Exhaust Depot one ia a bit more refined but not as aggressive. The magnaflow however costs a lot less.

Any Custom Exhaust Shop
Any good custom exhaust shop can make one for you. Just make sure they use stainless steel. I love mine esp with the manual transmission. It's quietly throaty when you are going easy - then sounds like a burning dinosaur when you step on it. :-) It's a great mod!

Thanks for the advice and replies guys i was considering Magnaflow to begin with but didn't know the sizes and stuff , like i said still a noob. Also , how do i avoid breaking warranty with the x pipe ... do i keep certain pieces and do i have to swap the pipe with original when i bring it in for service.

As long as you don't touch the cats (catalytic converters) your warranty is fine. You basically cut out the stock resonator and replace it with the x pipe+extra piping.

You guys have sound clips of exhaust setups on a 3.5 motor? I know it's a great sounding V6 (one of the better ones I've heard via the sound clips I've heard in the past), but I still kind of cringe at the sound of anything under a V8 with exhaust, save for the super hi-po 6'ers.

Frank W on the w204 forums here has uploaded a couple videos to youtube of his c350 with magnaflow x-pipes. Here is one link:

You should be able to find the rest of his videos consisting of drive-bys and inside & out videos with the related videos sidebar.
I hate any rice rattling as well, which is common with 4 bangers, but a v-6 exhaust done right can sound great, even like a v-8! the c300 with magnaflow can sound a bit ricey at times under really high rpms and when the vehicle still has not warmed up to the ~ 90 degrees celsius. But the c350 just sounds fantastic no matter what the case. If your sill concerned, go with eh exhaust depot x-pipe, reduces raspiness and isn't as aggressive, but still makes a big difference.

Better balance
with a true H pipe. more torque down low where needed
And yes if you have an exhaust related issue such as a failed cat,you may compromise the warranty of just the system affected. So the service department will note it and if problems they will use it to wiggle............

Thanks for the Link!
Yeah, one Magazine called the 3.5 M-B V6 a "Baby Ferrari wail", sound-wise.
I toyed with the idea of getting an exhaust on my last E, I just thought on an E, if I heard one drive by and it didn't have the deep V8 burble, it'd be kind of an awkward mix, and a let-down.
I wish I could hear one in person....
