Cruise control problem

I just tried to engage my cruise control and got this message. I was going 60mph. Anyone else had this message?

ML 350-Black=Sold. New 08 C300 4Matic, Black/Black, P1, Ipod, Auto7speed, 10/10 hit 100,000 miles
I had that intermittantly months ago, the dealer said it was the steering column control unit, $300 USD to fix . I said no and it works fine now, so give it some time.

Yea I had it. It went away within the week. I tried it about 3 days after and it worked.

Ok, well this morning I go to start my car and it did not start and I got the message in my display about the ESP. When I turned the key to start, all the lights lit up on the dash as normal, but the car did not start.

I took the key out and put it back in 5 times before it finally started. I thought I was going to have to call MB Roadside Assistance.

Now yesterday I got the cruise control inoperative message and it went away later in the day.

I'm beginning to think that something really is wrong now.

If this keeps happening, it is time for a visit to the dealership. An inspection is necessary now IMO.

Well, I took it to the dealer for B service last week and told them about the cruise control not working and the ESP problem and the steering column module had to be replaced. Apparently a code had been stored when the error messages appeared, so they were able to determine what the problem was. It was repaired under warranty.

Of course it's warranty.

Just last week my car did the same after a start. So, I shut down, pulled the key out and restarted and the warning was gone. Later that day the check engine light came on and stayed on during multiple starts and when the light was on, the idle was not as smooth. Next day, it was off and all was normal.

So, it goes in tomorrow afternoon to pull the codes and see what's what. I'll also ask them to quiet down my noisy (when tilting) sunroof after all this time.

This too shall pass.

So what was the outcome?

On the road right now with my 2-month old son, and this just happened to me. I have another 700 miles to go. Is this serious?
