Escort 9500IX Install Help

Alright so I have had the 9500ix installed in my previous car for years and always used the coil cable for the 12v jack. Now in my benz I don't want to mount and have that cheap cable flopping around everywhere and want to go about hard wiring.

Now I went through about 160 threads that relate to what I am looking for but either there is no info about how to hard wire it or where to hard wire it or there is no pictures of where it goes and how its done.

So what am I asking for?

Is it possible to hard wire somewhere in the mirror or rain sensor box on the windshield? If Not should I be hard wiring it to the passenger side or the driver side?

Also what about the mute button, what is the best place to mount that. Any pics would be great.

Thanks guys

You should try using the Search Advanced Search tool and enter hardwire under the W204 Section. There are numerous threads on this.

Run the cable to the side panel, on the drivers side. theres a wiregoing to the headlight switch that i believe is pink or red/white. Its an ignition 12V source you can use, and use a self tapping screw for the ground against chassis. I used for my Escort Redline and works perfect.

Keep it simple. I got the same radar detector, use buy a long cord on amazon and use the aux plug that is already in the glove compartment. From there just hide the wire and place the detector by rear view mirror. Ez and clean install!

See I would do that but my LCI does not have an 12V in the glove box. And I would rather go the hardwire route anyway. Makes it cleaner and still have an empty 12v in the center.

I was just curious, does this work for the C300? I have an invisicord and I'm not sure which wires I should plug em into (in the console).
I could provide a picture if that would help. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

AkaSigFreak should of already given you a link. It is the very same ones I used when doing mine.

However, since we have something in common, perhaps these pics will inspire you to never use a coil cable again.

Muahahah too late for the pics. lol But i did do something very similar. I didn't want to go as high as you did, since I need a clear view of the back window with the 9500
