Can i remove the door pins? honestly i see no apparent use for them and all my old cars(BMW 530i, audi a5) never had door pins, well the BMW did but still i never used them. im contemplating getting rid of them any ideas why i shouldn't?? and if i do does anyone know of a plastic cover out there that i can use to cover the hole?

My R32 had a red dot there. It is a lot better than ours. There are a few threads on here about it, couldn't find it but give it a try. Also, the other day I was on the mbusa website and I saw they offer AMG pins, which look a bit smaller but not completely gone.

I had my rear doorpins removed and plugged (rarely ever have anyone sitting in the back). After 2 broken doorpins in the rear I decided to just get rid of them. A member here on the site Aowhaus helped me make some doorpin plugs that he made for his own car.
Check out the thread:

Its funny though now that I don't have the doorpins in the rear and have friends sitting in the back, they always say "unlock the door!" or "child safety must be on" hahaha.
Hope that helps bud. Enjoy

white and whiter
yes you can replace the door pin with shorter ones. it was a US regulation that forced manufacturers to make these type of door pins so the passenger is able to unlock the door in emergency situation.
