+1....hope they don't force standard leather. I prefer a stronger, longer lasting material which is easier to maintain and clean and doesn't add $1000 to the base price by being made standard (it won't be given away at current base MSRP)...I believe it's called MB Tex!! Door trims can look/feel better with improved cushioned substrates and soft touch lowers.

I think a carbon fiber trim option should be added

could this be the SLK interior? even the doors dont look like a C class. I dont see them revamping the whole interior.

No it's the 2012 C-Class, the SLK interior looks similar to the SLS with round a/c vents, etc. This is from a series of new spyshots of a white C204 with less camo than what we've seen before. You can see them all at leftlanenews.com

http://www.leftlanenews.com/mercedes-benz-c-class-coupe

If that doesnt work just go to www.leftlanenews.com and scroll to "2012 C-Class shows its interior."

That's the 204 Coupe..also I have a feeling the navi/speedometer area with the big black plastic gap will look different in production form. This is obviously still very pre-production.

Now that you mention it, there is a similarity. I agree.

I really didn't mind the look of the current C's interior.

I think some more subtle updates would have been fine, but what do I know? I guess it makes me perfectly happy to keep my car though.

I like the direction. Unlike most, I actually hated the popup screen, or even the cap opening for non-MM screen. Messed with the smooth flow of the dash and asides from the initial oooh and ahhhh, it's a bulky design and one more moving part that can break down. Integrated screens in dash is the way to go.

I see a little BMW and Audi as far as the layout (it's a bit more driver-oriented, sporty, etc) but the overall look still seems MB to me. I see a lot of influence from the E-Class and even a bit of the new CLS. It's getting the seats from the E-Coupe as well which I love.

If this coupe has new engines and a stiffer/sportier ride than the sedan, I'll be very tempted to trade.

+1...

I already like the GLK interior better than the 204's because of the pop-up cover when I don't even have the MM. why would I want to cover something that I use everyday for radio and phone???

that new interior is a big plus! much like the E-coupe interior.

Not enough

I don't see one single thing in any little change before the W205 shows up that is enough of a real improvement to justify trading my '08. I'm concerned that 204 values are going to be in the toilet when trade-in time comes because of all the fire sale discounts going around now. It's true that these big discounts are offered mostly to clear out all the left over 2010 models now but this has to effect book values down the line. I went through this with my W203 and that was enough for me.

Yeah, I'm happy with my 2008 too.

It sounds so far away, but I think it would be money better spent if I just keep this 2008 (knock on wood it holds up), and get a W205 when they come out 4 years from now.

That way I could keep the 08 as an extra car too.

C Class Interior

Just took delivery of 2012 C350, sapphire grey metallic, ash leather interior. Dash is changed from our prior 2008 C350 (which was a great car) and is an improvement with larger, sharper navi screen, more functions, etc. New V6 is very powerful @ 302 HP, smooth, supposed to get better economy. As between vinyl ("M-B tex") and leather it is a personal matter of course, but I have never thought plastic seats belonged in a Mercedes unless it is a taxicab in Germany. It's noteworthy that the top Mercedes cars come with leather standard: S class, CL, SL, SLS. E550 Cabriolet, for example. So do Bentleys, Ferraris, Astons, etc.

Those other cars are also significantly above the price point of the C class.

MB's latest version of MB-Tex is amazingly soft. I decided to go with it - I have leather in my smart, and while I don't mind the upkeep it will be nice to have seats that can just be wiped clean again.

Your leather comments aren't exactly accurate on the top models. Also, even with real leather in many vehicles, you are still sitting on a plastic coating. MB-Tex has many characteristics superior to leather and vice versa. Mercedes has been equipping vehicles with it for over 50 years. For a painfully long leather vs MB-Tex argument / discussion please take a look here: https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...ut-mb-tex.html

Either way I don't think we should bleed it into this thread... which should really be dead anyway! Everyone has already seen the 2012s - they've been selling here for 3+ months now.

Leather

Actually, my comments about the top models are completely accurate. And yes, the price point on the other models is higher than C class, although the sticker on our 2012 is $50K. So? I know all about the coating on the leather that is prevalent today. Hey, if you like plastic to sit on, go for it. As I said, it's a matter of personal taste.

In ROW I'm pretty sure you can get an S or any other model with Tex or cloth. Some even prefer cloth over leather, so you're damn right that it's personal taste. But youre wrong about only leather, outside the US anyway. I will go enjoy my "plastic" seats. I prefer them. You know the carpet in your car is plastic too right? You're sitting on plastic too if yours is coated and it probably is. =D
