I am in the midst of purchasing a C Class for my wife but she really wants the real traffic update that's available on the 09 C Class.

Is there anyway that this can be installed on the 08 model or is this not possible?

 

I think you need a Sirius satellite subscription...is this correct?

 

I think the Real Time Traffic is only available on the C class with Sirius satellite radio for the 2010 models and onwards. But maybe you can asking the dealer if it available through a program update.

 

or get UMI/Nav+4 installed on the non-mm w204..then you will have free life time traffic update..

 

I would also suggest buying a car without Navigation and installing the Universal Media Interface ( UMI ) :

This will give you navigation with FREE real time traffic for life, the ability to play music from a USB thumb drive, full iPod or iPhone control, AUX input, and the ability to stream music via Bluetooth.

2009 models do not get traffic...

It seems you can get traffic through Sirius for the 2008 and 2010 models with factory navigation, but I can't confirm if it is available for the 2009.
