Thanks for the detailed response. But I wonder why Mercedes Benz had to change the light switch for the 2011 model. Looking at the 2011 MY light switch, it looks like there is no longer a "OFF" mode for the light switch that the 2008-2010 models had, but just "Automatic", "Parking Lights", and "Low Beam Headlights". Is that right? I don't like the idea of having no "OFF" mode.
My sister has a 2011 with the beige interior. She didn't get the xenon lights like you, so the inside of her headlight housing is blacked out like the c63. Also, to turn on the rear foglight, the square button to the left of the light switches has three uses. Press once, LED turn on, press again, rear fog turns on and led turns off, press a third time and the LED turns back on and the rear fog turns off. I am 99% sure this is the routine, and that you can never have the rear fog on and the LED, but I could be wrong, I have to check on this again.
Also, in my sisters car, they are not LED brake lights, running lights, or turn signals. Just plain Jane halogen. But, her reverse light is much more bright and white then my 2009 c300. It is not an LED, just maybe a different type or wattage? Hers is also a south Africa build, so that could maybe account for the difference?

I completely agree with you... In fact, one would think it should be required to have a car have an "off" function for the headlights. When I tested out what the small button to the left of the switch was it was daytime... Perhaps this can also turn off the headlights at night when it is on automatic -- I will have to check on this later...
The main reason for this post was because I had completely left out one huge difference over the 2009 models, but I am completely drawing a blank right now... I will have to edit it in later when I remember.
EDIT: I remember now, the chimes are completely different. I am not sure if this change happened in 2010. But instead of the nice euro style chirp when you lock and unlock the car, there is now a cheap american style sounding horn beep. But one positive with the new chimes, is that the interior alert chime for the seatbelt is not nearly as annoying at all, and does not seem as obtrusive, you barely hear it and it goes away sooner I believe?

Losing the traction control is a big bummer for me as well. I used t always switch back and forth on the fly.

btw..the rear fog light button on my car only does 2 things.
When i do not touch it, the LED stay lit and no rear fog.
When i press it, the LED's turn off and the rear drivers side fog turns on.
There is no 3rd function as stated above.

Very sweet setup! Perfect as it is IMO, all I'd do with a W204 aside from some clean-up stuff, is change the grille to a classier piece (without the huge and flabby slats).
BTW, I noticed, the LED "Fogs" on the '11 W204's seems more yellow-y than my W212's more hyper-white look. Is it to differentiate the two "levels" of cars, or because 204's are equipped with halogens 99.99% of the time (as are E's really), so they'd match better? Maybe I'm just seeing things.
All M-B's now have NO "Off" position. It's horribly annoying. Especially if you have HID's, and pull into a garage that forces your expensive Xenon's to come on every time you get in the car, or pull back into the garage. ![action](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/action1.gif)
This is one of the worst things M-B has ever done IMO. How could such a prestigious brand denigrate themselves to a level of GM Rental Cars with such a raunchy horn sound to arm or disarm the car. Lots of people should complain about this, or else, who knows what M-B will do next to embarrass the brands rich history. ![smash](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smashfreak.gif)

1) We have the most complex headlight switch i've ever seen. I remember having to read that section of the manual literally 3 times. Of course, I seldom touch it. But MAN it's a PITA!
2) I have an 08 350. Having the TPMS display per-tire PSI on the instyclustr would be nice... anybody ask if this is possible with just a software-update?

In Canada all C class come standard with HID's except the C250. So im not really sure. Actually, the C250's that do not have HID's all have smoked headlight housings.

They don't seem yellowy to me, more like a bright white bluish hue (ill take new pics). I saw an E63 the other day that has the W204 style LED's and I find it looks absolutely perfect. I'm not a fan of the hockey stick style.

Idk, maybe they're all the same LED lights and I'm just trippin'.

It is probably the halogen headlights that are throwing you off. My sister has the LED on her 2011 C, and we compared it to my neighbor's brand new S-Class, the LED are IDENTICAL. What they did to differentiate the model is that you can't get Luxury c-class with LED DRL, only with sport. At least, that is what my dealer said. My sister just bought the grille and hood star on ebay for total out the door of $90. And I must admit, I don't hate the looks of the luxury now, even I would drive it, looks VERY similar to the s-class from the front end.
Also, The TPMS "should" be able to be enabled via a software update, but I doubt that Mercedes will ever do it. I just went 1 week ago and got the latest firmware updates for EVERYTHING, and my 2009 doesn't show each tire pressure still. The TPMS sensor itself is identical, and the car reads each tire's pressure, they just choose to treat us like dummies in 2009 and 2008, and show it in 2010... Beats me.
You are able to disable the single horn beep upon unlock via the car's instrument cluster, but I am not 100% sure if you can disable it for locking as well, I think the dealer will have to do this for you (yes, they can). But I wouldn't recommend it, then you wouldn't know if your doors don't lock because something is slightly opened, or if you accidentally hit the unlock button. Instead I would look to see if you can replace the horn with the 2008-2009 style horn.
The traction control button movement into the cluster is still very easy to get to while your driving, but I do agree with you that it is not as simple or fast as just having the button on the dash. To me, it doesn't matter, because I have a 4matic and never use it. But to other rwd drivers, they might use it more and care...

Ah, okay, that makes sense. So they're all the same then.
Well good to know the halogens actually can blend in with the LED's then.
Yeah, funny thing, M-B is putting the once exclusive "Star Grille" on every model now, so the only 2 models that have the Luxury grille are the E and S Classes, making them more unique and "rare".
I wouldn't do a double take to a C with a Sport Grille, as it's all so common now, but a W204 with a Luxury grille and an AMG bumper will certainly be an original look for the particular car, and probably an even bigger "head turner", lol.

Yeah, the w204 are all to common where I live. That's why I try to make mine look as unique as possible. My sister's black w204 looks great! I am a bit jealous, especially knowing that she got a much better deal than I did... I would highly recommend it to anyone who has a 2011 c-class with LED to put in the luxury grille and hood star. I never replaced them before, only looked up online how to do it. And I finished swapping out both in under 15 minutes and it looks GREAT! Better than stock sport to be honest, especially for a woman. And I have not yet seen another 2011 C-class on the road, and if I do, it probably won't have the luxury, adding to the uniqueness. Only thing I don't like about the 2010 and newer models, is the rims, the 2008-2009 sport rims were much nicer IMO. Oh, and the horn beeps... Horrific.

Agreed about the horn beep. Simply horrid, and one of the lowest things M-B has pulled in a while. Unacceptable!
Yeah, I'm all about the Luxury Grille with Sport bumper, and hood Star. It comes standard on the E (which is why I'm not gonna mod it to go the other way around), but would make for a cool twist on the C.
Unfortunately, M-B supply their models with identical packages, which ruins their specialness faster. Before, you'd have the standard version, the Avantgarde, then the AMG Sports, for a pretty penny. Made for nice diversity.
Now, aside from the S (which still charges a premium for the Sport), all Benzes are literally like clones of each other. Sucks.

Why does MB have two parking light positions for the headlight switch. I know the one labelled with "P" is for parking light, but is the one on the left of the "A" position also for parking lights?

Nice. You're going to get thrashed with those wheels on the crappy MTL roads.
Even with my 17's they were damaged when I had my car there Jan - June this year. Should have gotten the ML for MTL haha - some of the worst roads I've ever been on - even compared to Sao Paulo LOL
I'd be surprised if those non-forged 19" wheels last a couple of mths.
