2008 MM Software vs. 2010 MM Software?

I was driving a 2010 C300 and the MM screen was a lot better. The navigation was different and there were a ton of other options on the screen, etc. Is it possible to update my 2008 MM software to the 2010 version?

I haven't personally noticed any difference in quality as far as the MM LCD among the 2010 and earlier versions. As far as additional options go, I can only think of the media interface (which replaced the previous AUX-based iPod integration kit from the 08 and 09 model years) and the Sirius real time traffic.

The new media interface can be retrofit to give you iPod control via COMAND along with A2DP streaming and USB connectivity. I believe that Sirius traffic requires a combination of a map update, a COMAND firmware update, and an active Sirius subscription with the traffic feature enabled.

Bump...

Has anyone went to the dealership for an upgrade on the multimedia interface?

I would be really interested in hearing if this was possible too... I have a 2009 C350 with MM and would love to get the A2DP streaming and USB connectivity.

I've never had any luck with getting anything installed and coded at my local dealership.

Rocco's Auto Tech in Costa Mesa, CA was able to retrofit a factory Sirius tuner to my 09 C300 and perform all the necessary coding. They're also able to retrofit the Media Interface, but I haven't gone through with that yet.

Retrofitting the equipment is rarely the problem. The hardest part is finding a place with a Star Diagnostic System that can code new options that weren't part of the vehicle's original build configuration. From what I understand, not even the SDS machines at dealerships are able to do this.

One way to get the upgrade, is to tell them that your AUX/iPod volume is too low. In this, there's a service upgrade that will allow them to update your command interface to the 2010 version (with the fix) so that you'll get all the features and you'll get that low volume fixed too.

I was able to do this at two dealers in So-Cal for my two C classes (One 2008 C300 and one 2009 C350). Cheers!

Is the Telematics CD (a2048278259, 01.07.2010) good for anything? What's even on it?
